The city festival lasts 24 hours/9 days and all generations and nations celebrate peacefully together. "Aste Nagusia"
During the so-called "Great Week" of Bilbao, the celebrations in honor of the patron saint Virgen de Bego?a take place. The capital of the Vizcaya region is transformed into a huge stage for concerts, spectacles, theater performances, fireworks and activities for children. The venues for all these events are, for example, Plaza Nueva, Plaza de Bizkaia, Plaza de Unamuno and Plaza de la Encarnaci?nthe Muelle de Uribitarte and the Paseo del Arenal.
