5 tips for ideal editing with Capture One | Philip Reichwein for Capture One
as part of our Online Fototage
Capture One expert Philip Reichwein will be presenting tips and tricks for ideal editing in Capture One! Have fun.
1. Try out all the controls at maximum!
Be bold - Capture One is a non-destructive tool. So you can always go back to your previous steps at any time! And far too many users haven't tried every slider or dragged it to +- 100%. Do this so that you can see how an effect works and how far you can use it.
2. Speed Editing for an ultra-fast workflow
Capture One allows you to change individual effects by holding down keys and moving the mouse. You can edit one or dozens of images at the same time with just one movement. You've never edited so fast!
3. Stacking styles
You know that you can save your editing steps as a "style"? But do you also know that you can apply several of these styles to your image? Why? To make you a) faster and b) even more creative. Because combining different styles can produce real masterpieces. AND adding a style to an extra new layer even allows you to adjust the effect with opacity OR brush in specific colors!
4. Magic with the "Magic Brush"
You only want to change certain areas? Then the magic brush is ideal! You brush over your desired color and only this is masked. Ideal for quickly masking and then carrying out your editing.
5. Last but not least - the STYLE brush
One of my favorite tools! You can save your settings as a style, you already know that, BUT did you know that you can save this style & brush settings as a style brush? Then click on your desired style brush in future and you will only brush in the effect where you want to change something. It couldn't be quicker!
