Versatile general-purpose zoom for FX format
Nikon today introduces a new standard zoom lens for the FX format. It features a flexible zoom range and optical image stabilizer in a particularly compact and lightweight design. With focal lengths from 24 to 85 mm, it offers plenty of creative scope from wide-angle to portrait celebrity focal lengths. For FX-format photographers looking for a handy all-purpose lens that doesn't compromise on imaging performance, this Lens is the optimal choice.

All-rounder
For an FX-format zoom lens with a focal length of 24 to 85 mm, the new NIKKOR is extremely compact. It's ideal for photographers looking for a handy Lens that they can conveniently take with them anywhere, allowing them to capture very different moments and subjects. The versatile focal length range of 24 to 85 mm covers many important shooting situations: from landscape to portrait photography. You can shoot wide-angle or get distant subjects up close without having to change the Lens.

Sharpness without blur
The versatile focal length range is complemented by Nikon's second-generation VR II image stabilizer. It provides much sharper freehand shots throughout the zoom range and significantly reduces camera shake - especially when shooting at the telephoto end of the Lens. Thanks to VR II, photographers can use exposure times that are longer by the equivalent of up to four light value stops. This increases the quality of low-light shots.

Thesophisticated optical design
uses three aspherical lenses to correct spherical aberration, distortion and other aberrations. The result is impressively sharp images, even at open aperture. A lens made of ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass contributes to the best possible correction of lateral chromatic aberration and thus to high detail sharpness, and Nikon's multi-layer coating of all lens surfaces (Super Integrated Coating) ensures high brilliance and outstanding color reproduction.

Handy and practical
The high imaging performance, low weight and compact dimensions make the AF-S NIKKOR 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR the ideal standard lens for anyone who values handiness, flexibility and premium image quality. The package is rounded off by the sealing collar on the bayonet mount, which protects the camera and Lens against the ingress of dust and moisture.
