It uses a back-illuminated 35 mm full-frame sensor with 24.6 effective megapixels for high-quality images. The front and back are made of die-cast aluminum alloy for superior ruggedness and reliability. The housing seals at 42 points ensure a dust and splash-proof construction.

The SIGMA fp has a very intuitive, easy-to-understand and highly customizable user interface including a specially developed operating system. The highlight is the smooth transition between photo and video recording. This allows you to intuitively switch between modes with a single switch.

Robust and lightweight aluminum housing
The camera housing of the SIGMA fp is dust and splash-proof in a total of 42 places. In combination with a dust and splash-proof Lens, the SIGMA fp is capable of working in rain, sandstorms and other challenging conditions.

Full-frame sensor
Equipped with a back-illuminated 35 mm full-frame Bayer sensor with 24.6 effective megapixels, the SIGMA fp is capable of capturing images in high resolution.

Screw threads for camera strap and tripod

Electronic shutter for a wide range of possibilities
Photographing at every opportunity. SIGMA meets this requirement with the silent electronic shutter of the SIGMA fp. This allows discreet shots to be taken in situations in which a conventional camera would disturb the atmosphere with its shooting noise. For example, when taking wedding photos in a church.

Furthermore, thanks to the electronic shutter of the SIGMA fp, there are no vibrations in the body - even during continuous shooting at 18 frames/sec. This prevents even the smallest blurring and captures optimally sharp images. In addition, the electronic shutter works much more reliably than its mechanical counterpart.

Creative image look and perfect exposure for photo and video
The SIGMA fp is a pioneer in the integration of functions that creatively expand photographic and technical possibilities. In addition to a range of different color modes, the SIGMA fp also features the newly introduced "Orange and Teal" mode. A color style that is widely used in Hollywood films. In this color mode, a high contrast between orange and blue-green tones is created, which looks extremely vivid and dramatic. The new "Orange and Teal" mode can be used for both photo and video recordings.

The SIGMA fp is also the first SIGMA camera to offer a gradation curve adjustment function. In combination with the "Fill Light" function, which is also available, the contrast and brightness of each shot can be optimized directly in the camera. In addition, the "Tone" and "Color" buttons allow lightning-fast access to the tone and color controls in the camera menu. These and many other functions adapt the SIGMA fp perfectly to every shooting situation and expand the creative scope.

High contrast and Cinemagram for photo and video
The SIGMA fp features a range of modern technologies for photo and video creation. For example, the auto-HDR function allows you to take several pictures with different exposures (3 shots for photo, 2 shots for video). The result is photos or videos with a significantly extended dynamic range that a normal shot could not achieve. The innovative Cinemagram function, meanwhile, creates an ingenious hybrid of photo and video - directly in the camera. The trendy Cinemagrams are saved as animated GIFs.

The Face / Eye Detection AF function enables the SIGMA fp to automatically focus on a person's eyes. It can focus on the model's eyes instantly and precisely, even when shooting portraits with a shallow depth of field Lens.

The focus peaking function highlights the areas of a subject in focus in a specific color. It helps to focus the lens manually.

L-Mount
The Lens mount of the SIGMA fp is the L-Mount*. This is characterized by its short flange focal distance, large diameter and outstanding durability. This means that numerous Lens mounts are available for the fp right from the start. In addition to the wide selection of SIGMA interchangeable lenses, the L-Mount Alliance with Leica Camera AG and the Panasonic Corporation also offers alternative lenses from other manufacturers. With the SIGMA MC-21 mount converter, SIGMA SA-mount and SIGMA's CANON EF-mount lenses can also be used.

Professional video functions
The world's smallest and lightest full-frame SIGMA fp camera records professional raw video data externally with 12-bit CinemaDNG on request. With 4K UHD/24fps recordings, the SIGMA fp generates video data that can be used directly in professional film production. It also supports ALL-I recording. An ideal basis for editing H.264-compressed videos.

In order to fit seamlessly into the professional video environment, the SIGMA fp offers a film camera-like user interface, the so-called Director's Viewfinder, which makes handling much easier for filmmakers. For video output, the SIGMA fp uses a fast USB 3.1 port (GEN1), enabling smooth data transfer to an external recording device.

Smooth transition between photo and video mode
For a smooth transition between photo and video recording, the SIGMA fp has a special switch on the top of its compact housing. This allows you to switch intuitively between the two shooting modes.

This standard lens, designed for use on relatively small full-frame mirrorless cameras, is a regular fixed focal length that aims to be easy to use, with an optimal balance of portable size and high optical performance. As such, the lens embodies the Contemporary product line's development concept of "striving for optimal tuning" and becomes the perfect first lens in the product line for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

About the product name: The product name contains "DG" when the lens is designed to deliver its maximum performance on cameras with full-frame sensors and "DN" when the lens design is optimized for short flange focal length mirrorless cameras.

As the development of mirrorless cameras continues apace, expectations are rising for lenses that are suitable for high-performance full-frame mirrorless cameras. Unfortunately, many photographers may feel they have little choice in mirrorless lens systems in terms of performance, size and comprehensive product lines, and are burdened with having to use multiple systems. SIGMA has therefore created this new full-frame mirrorless lens series as an optimal solution to this problem.
SIGMA is developing interchangeable lenses with unprecedented technical specifications and performance that also benefit from the short flange focal length of mirrorless cameras while fitting into the "Contemporary", "Art" and "Sports" concepts. Beautiful bokeh and beautiful rendering, a pleasure with any subject
The SIGMA 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary produces a particularly expressive bokeh. The spherical aberration has been controlled to ensure that not only the large bokeh in front of and behind the subject, but also the rear bokeh near the focus area create a soft blur. This lens softly reproduces the out-of-focus peripheral areas by suppressing the double-line bokeh, etc., and enhances the three-dimensional effect of the Lens by smoothing the foreground and background. In addition, the close focusing distance of 24cm enables snapshots and tabletop photography with creative use of the angle of view. The design takes vignetting into account to achieve a nice round bokeh while taming the swirls in the overall bokeh.

While this Lens produces a soft bokeh that can be described as "classic" when the aperture is wide open, it also achieves a modern, sharp rendition when stopped down further. This lens is a reliable tool for everyday photography.

Fast and high-precision AF
thanks to stepping motor This Lens offers smooth, quiet and fast AF thanks to the stepping motor and supports face detection/eye detection AF as well as video AF. The design takes MF operation into account, and a ring with optimized torque adjustment ensures good operability.

As the Lens is made for everyday use, special attention has been paid to build quality and operability. The bayonet lens hood feels comfortable to take off and put on and the lens barrel with metal as the main component achieves improved durability.
