Lisbon is one of the most beautiful metropolises in Europe, situated on the north side of the Tagus estuary on 7 hills. The combination of sea and city, Art Nouveau and contemporary architecture, nightlife and shopping streets enchants photographers from all over the world. Hardly anyone can escape the fascination of the metropolis. So it's no surprise that Lisbon has always welcomed different cultures over the centuries, which can still be experienced today in every historic district

.

Trip itinerary

Day 1 (Lisbon modern): Flight

with Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Lisbon. Transfer from the airport to the hotel. We start our first photo adventure in the late afternoon. Thanks to 24-hour tickets for the metro, streetcar and bus, we can move around Lisbon flexibly.

We will determine the exact sequence of locations according to the weather conditions. The schedule over the days is exemplary: Gare do Oriente / Expo area / Ponte Vasco da Gama:
Here Lisbon awaits us with impressive modern architecture. The Gare do Oriente (East Station) is a masterpiece by architect Santiago Calatrava. A building with massive curved shapes that offers exciting perspectives. It is also the entrance to the Expo site from 1998, where a multitude of exciting motifs await your photographic discovery. The Expo site leads us along the Tagus to the Ponte Vasco da Gama. One of the longest bridges in Europe.
Especially suitable for: Fine art shots, long exposures, targeted motion blur Day 2 (Lisbon historical): After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we start the day:
Praca do Com?rcio / historic tramways from the 1930s:
Life pulsates here between the Tagus and the magnificent white archway. On the 170x170m square with the typical Lisbon streetcars running across it. An ideal place for practicing or perfecting your pull-along shots. The photographs are given a unique dynamic
Especially suitable for: Street photography, dynamic pull-along shots Two hours in the hotel seminar room to discuss the results.

Elevator Santa Justa:
A steel construction from 1902 offers many exciting details, spectacularly illuminated at night. The 45m high platform offers a magnificent 360-degree panoramic view over Lisbon

Especially suitable for: Panoramas, blue hour

Day 3 (Lisbon modern to historical): MAAT (Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia) / Ponte 25 de Abril:

We drive to Belem. After a short walk, we reach the futuristic MAAT. It lies like a UFO directly on the Tagus. In the background is the Ponte 25 de Abril, Europe's Golden Gate Bridge. The Cristo Rei towers above it all. If we were at the carnival, it would be: motifs, motifs, motifs. The tripod and gray filters are definitely needed! We hike up to the steel bridge
Specially suitable for: Long exposures, fine art, detail shots, street photography, architecture Twohours in the hotel seminar room to discuss the results.

Mouraria / Alfama:

Mouraria is located directly at Martim Moniz, the start of the famous streetcar line 28. Once a feared district, now a trendy neighborhood in Lisbon. Between azulejos, graffiti, old ruins and renovated buildings, we discover one photo opportunity after another. It takes us up to the Senhora do Monte. The Lady of the Hill, the highest point in Lisbon. A unique panorama stretches out before us as far as the Ponte Abril de 25. If possible, we take streetcar 28 and explore the Alfama. Lisbon's oldest district with many historic buildings
Especially suitable for: Panoramas, blue hour, street photography, architecture Day 4 The morning is available to us as a normal workshop day and we will explore Lisbon's neighborhoods once again.
