?For me, photography is a beautiful medium for capturing moments, looking back on them at some point and reliving them.?Hannes Becker in an interview about the Olympus flagship E-M1X
At the presentation of the new Olympus E-M1X in Hamburg, we were able to gather some opinions and experiences from photographers who have already worked with the new MFT flagship. This week you can read an interview with adventure photographer Hannes Becker, who is part of the German Roamers. He was already on the road in Japan with the E-M1X and was able to give us some impressions. If you are more interested in the technical side of the Olympus E-M1X then take a look at our Foto Koch Hands On: Hands On with Video
You are part of the German Roamers. What do you mean by that?
We are a group of 14 photographers from Germany, or rather a collective that came together years ago with the aim of presenting Germany's most beautiful spots on Instagram. People tend to travel abroad, but you can also take beautiful photos in Germany. In the meantime, we have also built up a community and run various community events, such as Insta-Walks, photo meet-ups and even workshops.

The German Roamers about themselves:
Create:
The core element of our work is outdoor photography. We strive for only the highest quality in visual content and therefore utilize our collective setup. With our expertise in social media, we realize social campaigns and produce photographic content for clients worldwide.
Explore
When we explore nature, we try to see the still unseen, new places that surround us. Our goal is to set the pace, not be copycats or simply adapt something because it works well.
Networking
Developing a strong and active community has been our main goal since day one. That's why we try to meet regularly with our photographers and fans.
What is your focus in photography?
I specialize in landscape, outdoor and travel photography, which means that I attach great importance to photographing certain landscapes that are perhaps difficult to reach with a certain lighting mood or general atmosphere, for example through fog. I also attach great importance to a very strict composition and work with a wide variety of stylistic means
How did you come to the Olympus system?
My first camera was an Olympus. Five years ago I was faced with the decision to buy a camera; until then I had only taken photos with my cell phone and wanted a small entry-level camera. The E-M10 was introduced that very year - it was my first camera and the first step towards more professional photography, away from cell phones. I've been using Olympus ever since.
What role does the camera play for you?
I generally attach great importance to a lot of detail, the more information, the better for editing afterwards. If you have a lot of data, then of course it's always nice to be able to make full use of it. But what I like best, or what I would call the best feature, is that the stabilizer has been further improved. As I generally travel without a tripod, I don't have to rely on it and can shoot everything handheld, which is the best thing for me, my workflow and the way I shoot.
