The new exhibition at the NRW-Forum on conspiracy theories, fake news & Co.
The new exhibition "Im Zweifel f?r den Zweifel: Die gro?e Weltverschw?rung" opens today at the NRW-Forum. We took a look at it yesterday at the press preview.
In times of fake news, alternative facts, cover-ups and conspiracy theories, the NRW-Forum is addressing these issues with curator Florian Waldvogel. In various installations and exhibitions, several national and international artists show how fears are stirred up and how they can be broken through. Forensic Architecture, for example, deals with the NSU trial, IOCOSE creates the impression of a huge protest movement with more or less empty statements on cardboard signs in the hands of various people and Michael Schirner shows well-known historical images that he has manipulated. You think you've seen each of them before, but there's still something missing. For example, the tanks on Tiananmen Square at the 1989 massacre have simply disappeared or the terrorist at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. In addition to many other visual and sound installations, a false star now shines on the roof of the NRW Forum. The exhibition is definitely very successful. In our opinion, however, a guided tour is recommended, as many things become clearer with an explanation. Guided tours can be booked as a group, for example, or you can take part in the free guided tour on the last Friday of the month (6 pm).
