The variety of lenses that can be combined with the Sony A-mount digital camera offers everyone, whether professional or amateur, suitable solutions for all requirements of modern and contemporary photography with the SLR/SLT. The Sony SLT digital cameras are equipped with an A-mount (also known as an A bayonet mount), the compatible shutter for the use of a wide variety of interchangeable lenses. In conjunction with the SLR cameras, as well as the autofocus system and its new drive technologies such as Sony's Super Sonic Wave Motor (SSM), this results in a high level of compatibility. Other manufacturers such as Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, Walimex and others ensure an ideal photo and video combination with no limits. With a view to the wide-ranging product portfolio, the lenses with Sony A-mount cover all possible uses in amateur and professional photography and leave almost nothing to be desired.
You therefore have the choice between various fixed focal lengths, but also zoom lenses: For example, a fixed focal length for portraits, a zoom or a telephoto or megazoom for shots in the distance, such as in sports or animal photography, a motorized zoom for video recordings or a macro for close-up photography and finally a wide angle for an image angle that exceeds the usual width of the human eye, as is found in landscapes, architecture or panoramas. The lenses are often equipped with an image stabilizer to prevent camera shake, which ensures stabilized systems for slower shutter speeds or unfavourable lighting conditions.
