Tripods relieve the photographer in many ways, because the body and lenses may weigh a lot. Also, hand-held photography is only possible up to certain lighting conditions. As a rule, the photographer, whether amateur or professional, needs a tripod when the light is too low and when he or she does not want to work with the flash. Exception: the smartphone stick is intended for spontaneous shots where the cell phone can be fixed - for selfies, for example. Otherwise, these tools are needed for many purposes. Special versions are available from Berlebach, Delkin, Cullmann, Hama, Manfrotto or D?rr, for example for car windows, astro or video recordings and other purposes. Novoflex, for example, offers a model that can be used as a hiking pole. The travel and table tripods from Manfrotto, Hama or Cullmann, on the other hand, are models on three legs. Lightweight and handy, they are compact helpers for mobile use or when the exposure time is not long enough. Monopods as well as shoulder tripods from Benro, Kaiser or Rollei are similarly handy and are recommended when there is no space to set up the tripod. With accessories such as the fixable spirit level, the camera can still be aligned; similar modifications allow an adjustable mount such as the ball head. Available in various materials, such as stainless steel, aluminum, wood or plastic, the particularly light and stable models are made of carbon. Spontaneous handheld video tripods can be used for filming. Light tripods make it possible, especially when shooting with additional spotlights or photo lights, to place them as needed. They are available, for example, from D?rr, Helios, Kaiser, Cullmann or Falcon.
