Lenses with Tilt-Shift-Technique - Tools of the Trade for Professionals and Creatives
Too bad: If the verticals of a building do not run parallel to the edge of the image ? even though the Leaning Tower of Pisa was not in focus ? then this is a distortion that the eye corrects, but not the camera. And on a green meadow, not all clover leaves should be focused, only the one with four leaves. But what the eye is capable of, the optics of the lenses do not accomplish. So that's a case for the editing of the inage, right? Not necessarily. Rather a case for the tilt-shift lens. Shifting the area of focus and correcting perspective ? what sounds like digital post-processing are photographic techniques, called tilt-shift, that can both correct the aberrations of photography and create creative effects. Both can be realized with suitable cameras, but much easier with the help of a special type of lens, the tilt-shift lens. For the special area of tilt-shift lenses, Canon, Laowa, Leica, Nikon, Samyang or Walimex have high-performance lenses in their product range. Tilt-shift lenses help the photographer to correct the perspective of the image, i.e. to compensate for particular distortions, such as distorting lines in architecture. As a lens technique, tilt-shift is actually a combination of two different terms: "tilt" means pivoting the lens system in relation to the image plane. "Shift", on the other hand, means shifting ? so under the same exposure time, the range of focus can be shifted in the image selection. Of course, lenses with tilt-shift technology also offer the possibility to creatively shape or weight according to interest. The application area of product and food photography is thus cared for. Tilt-shift then replaces the software, for example.
