DJI Mini 4 Pro, child's play to professional drone flight
DJI surprises us every time with the Mini series: this year, the 249g drone gets more features from the larger drones, like the ever-popular waypoint feature that lets the drone fly along an established path. But the camera has also received some upgrades; more on that in a moment.
DJI Mini 4 Pro + RC remote control
- light weight of 249 g
- 4K/60 fps HDR and 4K/100 fps video recording
- Slow motion recording in 4K
- up to 34 minutes flight time
- True vertical recording possible
- RAW recording capable
DJI Mini 4 Pro with the RC Remote ControlThe new video resolutions of the DJI Mini 4 Pro
The first improvement of the new Mini 4 Pro comes in 4K recording: Here, 100fps rather than a maximum of 60fps is now possible, offering even more potential for stunning slow motion drone footage. In addition, 4K HDR recordings are also possible at 60fps, which allows for easy slow motion recording.
All of this still brings you quite little in post-processing, but DJI has also thought about this and now offers D-Log M and HLG instead of D-Cinelike 10-bit, which will surely please many who would like to tease out the last detail once again in post-processing.
Omnidirectional obstacle detection +& video transmission
The DJI Mini 4 Pro's new sensor technology offers obstacle detection in all directions, which is now complemented by 3D infrared sensor technology to the front and rear. This sensor technology helps the drone better avoid or stop in front of trees, walls and other surfaces with recognizable patterns.
The drone's video signal is transmitted at 1080p/60fps instead of just 30fps, unlike the DJI Mini 3 Pro. This is also another improvement in safety features, as it makes the transmitted image a bit smoother. The connection range has also improved a bit and offers a range of up to 20Km with little interference. Remember, however, that in Germany only flight on sight is allowed. This transmission range is due to the new DJI 04.
Compact drone for travel and photo backpackThe new Activetrack 360 +& Waypoint
With Active Track 360°, the Mini 4 Pro guides itself during Activetrack, keeping the subject in focus. While tracking the subject, the drone avoids obstacles thanks to the new sensors.
The Waypoint feature is available for the first time in the Mini series. Plan flight routes and shots for the Mini 4 Pro in advance to master difficult camera movements and stunning single shots. You can also save flight routes to precisely repeat the same movement at a later time. This allows for long-term time-lapse photography with transitions from day to night or season to season. This opens up whole new and different possibilities with super clean transitions in the edit.
With the new Activetrack 360 function, the camera is also able to follow you as it flies over you or the tracked object.
True vertical video and photos with the DJI Mini 4 ProConclusion
If you were undecided last year and decided against the DJI Mini 3 Pro, you will now find a drone that is close to perfect. With the 249g it also offers the possibility to fly in many places in the world without further ado. Of course, you should always check the local requirements or inform yourself about them.
