The facade of Foto Koch 1973

17 | 100 Foto Koch 1973

from the series 100 photos - 100 stories

1973, a big year for Foto Koch: it was only in 1973 that the store was located where Thomas G?rner and his employees are celebrating their anniversary this year: on the Schadowstra?e shopping street. Foto Koch has increased its sales area a hundredfold in the course of its history: a comprehensive range of products is now offered on 1000 square meters: Hi-fi and video articles. As a result, Foto Koch expanded its target group of customers. At the same time, the company was always ready for redesigns. Work continued on the product catalog. At first, the print shop typeset everything by hand and the team received proofs for correction. The first major improvement was that the article lists could be transferred from the IBM to an Excel program, which largely saved on typesetting costs. Newspaper advertisements and catalog pages were then created using a Mac. Before these primitive CSV-like lists, however, there were already catalogs that had more than 16 pages.
