Fujifilm once again combines the usual retro charm and state-of-the-art technology in the new X-T5. As usual, the Fujifilm X-T5 also offers an APS-C sensor with the popular film simulation, which enables 19 different simulations.

The X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor of the Fujifilm X-T5

The new Fujifilm sensor not only offers a powerful 40.2 MP, but has already been used in the Fujifilm X-H2. This stacked sensor is capable of recording up to 8K video and offers a particularly high continuous shooting rate of 40 frames per second. The high-resolution CMOS sensor does not require an optical low-pass filter, which, among other things, counteracts moiré. This is because the special arrangement of the pixels on the sensor helps to reduce the formation of moiré.

This new pixel structure also contributes to the sensor being able to store a larger amount of light, so that the standard sensitivity of the sensor is now ISO 125. The X-T5 offers a very fast shutter speed of 1/180.00 with electronic shutter. Thanks to this shutter speed, it is possible to work with an open aperture in almost any situation, leaving plenty of room for creativity.

The ISO range of the Fujifilm X-T5 extends from 125-12,800 and up to 51,200 in the extended range, so nothing stands in the way of your next night-time photo session.

Not only the sensor of the X-T5 offers a lot of advantages, but also an IBIS, which offers the sensor a five-axis stabilization. This IBIS offers up to 7 f-stops of image stabilization. This not only makes it possible to film very well, but also to take good photos in darker situations.

Another exciting feature of the Fujifilm X-T5 is the Pixel Shift Multishot, with which it is possible to shoot 160 MP images in ultra-high resolution and, thanks to the built-in IBIS, also easily possible. When using this function, 20 images are captured. During these 20 shots, the IBIS shifts the sensor by half a pixel to capture every red, green and blue pixel. The result is a perfect image without demosicing artifacts or color errors.

The autofocus performance of the Fuji X-T5

Thanks to the new X-Processor 5, the autofocus has not only become very fast and even more reliable, but has also made some progress in subject recognition. The subject recognition system detects many different subjects such as: Birds, cars, bicycles, airplanes, bicycles, motorcycles or people reliably and keeps them in focus. The low light autofocus also offers good + reliable performance at up to -7 EV with phase autofocus. Overall, the X-T5 has received some further improved autofocus algorithms and offers a very high reliability around portrait, landscape + co.

The new X-Processor 5

The new X-Processor 5 built into the X-T5 is twice as fast as its predecessor, the X-Processor 4, and not only offers reduced power consumption, allowing you to take even more pictures. The X-Processor 5 also offers HEIF support and improved AI-supported signal processing.

Retro nostalgia with the film simulation

The X-T5 offers 19 digital film simulation modes that reproduce the characteristic look of Fujifilm's classic photographic films, which have been developed for over 85 years. These modes capture the distinctive tones, shades and hues that Fujifilm is famous for, adding a unique touch to your photography.

Video functions of the X-T5

Up to 6.2k at 30 frames per second: that's what the Fuji X-T5 offers you at 4:2:2 and 10-bit color depth. You want 4K recordings? The X-T5 shoots up to 59.94p at 4K and up to 240p in Full HD. If you value the RAW format, you have the option of external RAW recording via HDMI. The camera also features the F-Log2 format, which offers up to 13+ f-stops of dynamic range.

The Fujifilm X-T5 Body

The retro nostalgia of the Fujifilm X-T5 not only offers an excellent feel and the memory of analog times, but also two built-in UHS-II SD card slots, power delivery via USB-C and a Micro HDMI connection. The Fuji also scores highly in terms of robustness: with its weather-resistant body, it can also be used in wet conditions. And even when it gets colder, the Fujifilm works at temperatures as low as -10°C. With a weight of 557g, the camera is also interesting for those for whom weight plays a role.
