At the heart of the Creator Edition is the HERO13 Black with its outstanding 5.3K60 video and award-winning HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization. It comes with a versatile battery grip that offers more than 5 hours of 4K recording time per charge1 and allows you to conveniently control the camera with the built-in buttons during long shoots. The complete system also includes a directional microphone that reduces ambient noise, Bluetooth audio options for using a wireless microphone, an LED light, a magnetic lock mount that allows you to replace the battery even faster, and multiple options for transferring your footage - for example wirelessly, wired or via your SD card.2 The camera is also compatible with the HB-Series Lens2, which allows you to further expand your shooting options. The HERO13 Black Creator Edition combines the Enduro battery of the HERO13 Black with the battery power of the Volta grip. This gives you a total of 6,800 mAh of battery capacity. That's more than 5 hours of continuous recording time in 4K or more than 4.5 hours of recording time in 5.3K301 (our highest resolution) - enough for a full day of video clips. Plus, the improved Enduro battery significantly boosts camera performance in cold weather, so you can reliably shoot spectacular ski and snowboard videos or simply capture your winter adventures.
One-handed control + remote control
With the integrated camera buttons on the handle, you can turn your camera on and off, start and stop recording, change modes and more with one hand. You can even detach the handle from the camera and use it as a remote to control your camera from up to 30 meters away.7
Easily expandable
The Media Mod lets you add extra gear to your HERO13 Black Creator Edition to tell your stories. It features a standard 3.5mm microphone port for an external microphone, an HDMI output for playback on external monitors and two accessory shoes for lights, LCD displays or other accessories.
Powerful LED lighting
The Light Mod on HERO13 Black Creator Edition bathes every scene and adventure in soft, even light. It has four brightness levels (up to 200 lumens) as well as an overdrive and strobe mode and can also be used as a handy stand light with GoPro mounts.
Integrated tripod
The HERO13 Black Creator Edition's Volta grip allows you to hold and aim your camera comfortably, and the integrated tripod legs, which can be folded out at any time, allow you to take stationary and hands-free shots. The movable mounting eyes allow you to flexibly rotate and tilt the camera so that you can always find the perfect shooting angle.
Flexible mounting
With the included mount with magnetic lock, you can attach and detach your GoPro from the Volta handle even more quickly and easily. Magnets guide your camera into the right position - all you have to do is snap it into place. This is particularly practical if you want to quickly switch between different mounts with your camera. With the handle's retractable eyelets, you can easily attach your Creator Edition to GoPro backpack straps to capture POV footage of your travels. It can also be used with other GoPro mounts and is easily compatible with standard tripods and other camera accessories thanks to the 1/4-20 thread.
HLG HDR videos
The HERO13 Black sets new standards in image quality and now enables recording in HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), a standard HDR format used by professionals for 5.3K and 4K videos in 10-bit and Rec. 2100 color spaces. This advanced feature requires a compatible display and media player for playback. Of course, you can still record videos in HDR without HLG if the recordings are to be played back on standard displays and media players.
Widescreen, portrait and full-frame recordings
With the powerful 1/1.9-inch image sensor of the HERO13 Black Creator Edition, you have even more options. Choose between widescreen shooting (16:9 aspect ratio) for full-screen playback on a TV or vertical video (9:16 aspect ratio) for social media posts. For maximum versatility, the full-frame option (8:7 aspect ratio) captures a 156° field of view that you can later flexibly crop to widescreen or portrait.
10-bit color + log encoding
With the HERO13 Black Creator Edition, you have the choice between standard 10-bit color video or 10-bit log encoding with GP-Log. With 10-bit color, over 1 billion colors can be displayed - offering improved color depth and smoother gradations to make your videos look even more realistic. Advanced users can use GP-Log to capture more detailed footage and make the necessary image corrections in post-production (a look-up table (LUT) is provided).
Timecode Sync
Advanced users who use multiple GoPro cameras can now synchronize their cameras with an accurate timecode, making it much easier to post-produce footage from multiple cameras. This works with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and other editing programs - for even more efficient post-production.
27 MP photos and 24.7 MP stills
The HERO13 Black Creator Edition captures single, interval, continuous and night photos at 27 MP. This allows you to take standard shots, fast action shots and night shots in low light conditions with just one press of the shutter button. You can also use the GoPro Quik app to extract stunning 24.7 MP photos of your favorite shots from your videos.
Bluetooth audio connectivity
Bluetooth audio lets you connect the HERO13 Black wirelessly to compatible devices. A wireless microphone improves audio recording for scene descriptions or interviews. Or connect your GoPro to your wireless earbuds so it can receive your voice commands even when it's in a noisy environment or out of earshot. You can also receive alerts from the camera through your earbuds so you know if it has received your command and is performing the way you want it to.
Enhanced audio recording
The HERO13 Black Creator Edition Media Mod has a 3.5mm microphone jack that allows you to connect a wired microphone. It also has an integrated directional microphone for even better voice recordings. You can set the microphone to record mainly the sound in front of the camera when you are recording interviews or performances, for example, or the sound behind the camera when you are commenting on the action in front of you. There is also a setting that allows you to focus on both equally. Also included is a removable foam windscreen that suppresses gusts of up to 32 km/h.
Audio tuning:
Audio tuning allows you to better match the sound recording to the image. You can choose between a balanced, lifelike sound that is suitable for most recordings and the voice setting, which makes voices sound clearer while keeping ambient noise in the background.
QuikCapture - now even faster
QuikCapture is the fastest and easiest way to start recording as soon as you switch on the camera. All you need to do is press the shutter button. What's more, you can now put your camera into sleep mode without it switching off completely - so it's ready for the next shot even faster. The perfect way to always be ready for action shots.
GPS and measurement data stickers
GPS automatically records telemetry data, which you can display as animated graphics in your video using the GoPro Quik app. This allows you to visualize speed, distance, terrain, altitude and G-force, giving your videos a totally professional look.
Front + rear LCD display
Find the perfect perspective with the front or rear LCD display. Capture scenes in front of you with the large touchscreen on the back. For vlogging and selfies, turn the camera around and take your shots with the display on the front.
More options for presets
Define your own presets in which you record the options for your favorite activities - including resolution, frame rate and Lens. You can then call them up conveniently with just a few taps. To transfer your content to a computer, you can use a lightning-fast USB cable connection6 or the SD card. If you use the convenient auto-upload, you'll also benefit from unlimited cloud storage.5 Simply plug your camera in to charge while connected to your home Wi-Fi and the camera will do the rest.
Videos and photos with night effects
The HERO13 Black has three new time-lapse and photo modes that let you get creative after dark. Startrails mode uses the Earth's rotation and stars to capture beautiful light trails in the night sky. With "Light Painting" you can create brilliant brushstroke effects with moving lights. "Car light trails" records impressive light trails with night-time traffic.
Power tools
The power tools integrated in the camera make every shot a success. HindSight captures the scene up to 30 seconds before you start shooting - just in case you press the shutter button too late. With scheduled recordings, you can set your GoPro to switch on and record automatically up to 24 hours in advance. If you set a recording duration, you can easily record video clips from 15 seconds to 3 hours long. The interval photo function takes photos at fixed intervals while you concentrate on your activities.
