Land. Water. Air. Less load, not less reach. The compact 500 mm super telephoto lens with fixed focal length and 1:5.6 speed.

The phase Fresnel lens (PF) contributes to a noticeably lower weight of this fixed focal length - without sacrificing image quality. The close focusing distance of just 3 m increases the creative potential. Whether detail shots of ripe flowers or portraits of athletes. For even more flexibility, you can increase the focal length with an optional 1.4x, 1.7x or 2x teleconverter¹ from Nikon.

Robust and mobile

Thanks to the phase Fresnel lens (PF), the Lens is very compact and the fluorine coating prevents water, dust and dirt from sticking to it. All moving parts of the lens barrel have seals that protect against dust and splash water. The tripod adapter ring is equipped with bearings and thus enables a smooth change between portrait and landscape format.

Sharp and brilliant

Wild animals in the sunset. Subjects in harsh streetlight. Benefit from high sharpness right into the corners of the image, minimal vignetting and low stray light - even at open aperture or in backlight.

Three ED glass lenses ensure images with vivid colors and very good contrast. The Nikon nanocrystal coating reduces reflections highly effectively. This ensures brilliant, clear images with minimal stray light, flare or ghosting, even in backlit conditions. The scattering effects of the phase Fresnel lens (PF) are effectively reduced, ensuring outstanding resolution and excellent reproduction of point light sources. Even at the edge of the frame.

Sharpness without blurring

Keeping pace with action and light. The Nikon Image Stabilizer (VR) with SPORT mode takes the worry out of blur in any situation.

The Nikon VR (Vibration Reduction) system compensates for camera shake during exposure. Nikon's Silent Wave Motor enables extremely fast and quiet autofocus operation. Advanced AF tracking keeps moving subjects securely in focus, even if the movement is unpredictable or the subject is moving rapidly towards the camera. The electromagnetic aperture control ensures fast response and maximum precision. A switch for limiting the focusing range (FULL and ∞-5 m) makes it possible to speed up focus acquisition even further.

Focusing functions adopted from professional NIKKOR Lens offer outstanding adjustment options. The focus modes (A/M and M/A) allow you to switch from autofocus to manual focus simply by turning the focusing ring. The focusing ring is easy to adjust precisely thanks to its non-slip structure. With the focus memory function, a distance setting can be saved for repeated use. Perfect if you want to focus on the perch of a bird while hunting.

Achtung: Serienstreuung
Lange war ich in dem Glauben, dass heutzutage so ziemlich überall die Qualität von Waren signifikant nachlässt ? außer, vielleicht etwas naiv, im Kamerabereich.? Als ich vor zwei Monaten vom Sigma 150-600 C zum Nikkor 500mm PF wechseln wollte, wurde dieser Gedanke tief erschüttert. Ich testete das neue Objektiv nach allen Regeln der Kunst: Stativ, VR aus, Spiegelvorauslösung, Kabelfernauslöser und im Fokus ein AF Testchart von Steve Perry. Fazit: das 500mm PF ist längst nicht so scharf, wie mein Sigma 150-600mm - obwohl es eine Festbrennweite ist, obwohl es das drei- bis vierfache kostet. Auch mit Autofokus Fine-Tuning war keine Besserung zu erzielen. Ich tauschte es um. Nächster Versuch. Gleiches Ergebnis. Ich konnte es nicht glauben - Foto Koch auch nicht. Sie schickten mich mit Kamera und Objektiv zum Nikon Service. Ergebnis: die Kamera sei ok und die Abbildungsleistung des Objektivs liege im Rahmen der Fertigungstoleranzen? Foto Koch war so nett und ließ es mich noch ein zweites Mal umtauschen. Und nun? Kaum zu glauben: es war mindestens ebenbürtig scharf mit meinem überdurchschnittlich scharfen Sigma (von dem es im übrigen scheinbar auch etliche nur durchschnittliche bis schlechte Exemplare gibt).
Im Urlaub habe ich es nun ausgiebig getestet und muss sagen, dass das Objektiv echt wahnsinnig gut ist. Dem Autofokus vom Sigma habe ich nie so recht vertraut, auf diesen hier kann ich mich nun verlassen. Auch die Autofokus Felder, die am Rand bei meiner D500 liegen, kann ich, nun in der Regel alle benutzen, was mit dem Sigma völlig undenkbar war. Was mich aber wirklich verblüfft: wenn man im Serienmodus genügend Fotos macht, ist es mit diesem Objektiv nun möglich, Vögel, die nicht allzu weit weg sind und halbwegs ruhig sitzen, auch mit Verschlusszeiten bis zu 1/40 relativ scharf zu bekommen. Das eröffnet völlig neue Möglichkeiten.
1 Stern Abzug, weil Nikon es offensichtlich auch bei dem Preis für in Ordnung hält, schlechte Exemplare durchzuwinken, anstatt sie aus dem Verkehr zu ziehen.
