Product description for Nikon AF-S Nikkor E 300mm f/4.0 PF ED VR Nikon FX

Bridge the distance with this 300mm FX-format Lens. As the first NIKKOR lens with an F mount to feature a Phase Fresnel (PF) diffractive lens, it offers the perfect blend of compact design, telephoto focal length, and high image quality.

 

This Lens is ideal for sports, wildlife, and travel photography as well as detailed portraiture, making it a smart choice for those who want a telephoto to fill the frame but not overfill their camera bag.

 

The combination of f/4 speed, a 300mm focal length, and VR technology delivers the best results in a wide range of shooting situations. Due to the integrated diffractive lens, the size and weight of the Lens are smaller. A fluorine coating ensures greater robustness thanks to water-, dust- and dirt-repellent properties.

 

High-performance telephoto lens: focal length of 300 mm (equivalent to 450 mm in DX format) and high speed of f/4.

 

Diffraction lens: This telephoto lens provides excellent imaging performance and features a remarkably compact design. By using a diffractive lens (PF), weight is significantly reduced without compromising image quality.

 

Image Stabilizer (VR): The image stabilizer with the new "Sport" mode compensates for camera shake and allows sharp shots with exposure times up to 4.5 light levels longer.¹ The "Sport" VR mode enables a steady viewfinder image when tracking fast-moving subjects by pulling the camera along, and allows a frame rate with reduced shutter lag in continuous shooting that is close to the frame rate when the image stabilizer is off.

 

Enhanced Imaging Performance: Because the Nano Crystal Coat reduces ghosting and flare, this Lens produces brilliant images with exceptionally high detail contrast. An ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lens minimizes chromatic aberration.

 

Electromagnetic iris diaphragm mechanism: for consistent, more precise exposure results, especially when shooting at high frame rates.

 

Fluorine coating: actively repels water, dust and dirt without compromising image quality. Fluorine coating provides greater robustness and reduces the risk of scratching the lens surface during cleaning.

 

Close focus distance: 1.4 m

 

Tripod adapter ring RT-1 (optional accessory): Provides a durable and balanced mount for the Lens to switch between portrait and landscape modes.
