With a focal length of 300 mm, this first-class telephoto lens is particularly suitable for sports and wildlife photography.

Robust and compact

Despite its splash-proof and dust-proof metal housing, the Olympus M-Zuiko AF 300 mm f/4.0 IS ED Pro is light and handy compared to 35 mm lenses with an equivalent focal length of 600 mm. This makes it easy to take freehand shots at long focal lengths.

The innovative design of the Olympus M.Zuiko Pro series telephoto zoom with 17 high-quality optical lenses ensures first-class imaging characteristics. Sharpness and detail in all image areas and beautiful bokeh guarantee exceptional quality shots. The Lens's high-speed autofocus works precisely, whisper-quietly, and quickly. Pulling back the focus ring instantly switches to manual focus. The effectively working 5-axis image stabilizer and the fast F4.0 aperture allow perfect freehand shots even at slow shutter speeds. The scope of delivery of the high-quality M.Zuiko Pro telephoto zoom includes an Arca-Swiss-compatible tripod clamp and an extendable sunshade.

Together with the new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300 mm 1:4.0 IS PRO, OLYMPUS now offers professional photographers the ideal Mirco Four Thirds Lens for any focal length from 14 mm to 600 mm*. OLYMPUS' M.ZUIKO PRO Lenses are designed and manufactured to the highest standards. They combine maximum optical performance with the compact, lightweight design of the Micro Four Thirds standard. M.ZUIKO PRO Lenses are also dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof. A quick comparison with SLR lenses sums up the benefits of the new PRO lens. At just 1,270 g, the telephoto lens weighs just a quarter of the weight of available SLR lenses with equivalent focal lengths. And with a length of just
227 mm, the OLYMPUS Lens is significantly more compact than any comparable lens. Advantages that allow professionals to safely stow their valuable equipment in their carry-on luggage, even when traveling by air.

In addition, the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300 mm 1:4.0 IS PRO works completely noise-free with the electronic shutter of the OM-D, so that, for example, shots at weddings, in churches, at classical concerts can be taken without interference.

Perfectly stabilized
OLYMPUS has established itself as the world's leading supplier of integrated image stabilization systems in compact system cameras and has now extended this expertise to include lens-based technology. Owners of the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300 mm f/4.0 IS PRO will benefit from the world's first IS Sync mechanism, which is perfectly matched to the 5-axis image stabilization system of the OM-D E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II. This results in compensation increased to 6 EV steps - and leads to a significant reduction in blur when shooting video or shooting without a tripod.

Innovations ensure versatility
The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300 mm 1:4.0 IS PRO is not only attractive in terms of weight, size and stability, it also boasts numerous sophisticated features that make it one of the most versatile telephoto lenses on the market - not least its ease of use. The focus clutch allows photographers to switch between pre-set focus settings and super-fast, high-precision AF. There are three switches on the top of the Lens that can be operated without taking your eyes off the viewfinder and with just one finger. On the left side, the L-Fn button can be assigned one of 27 assignable functions. Next to it is the on/off switch for the Lens image stabilizer (when using a tripod). The third button changes the focusing range. The potential for close-up photography is also absolutely exceptional, with a magnification of 1:0.48 and a distance of just 1.4 meters between the subject and the camera.

Erste Aufnahmen mit dem Olympus 4,0 - 300 mm IS PRO
Das Objektiv setzte ich überwiegend für Wilflifeaufnahmen ein. Ob mit der ohne Konverter MC 14: Alle Aufnahmen wurden mit offener Blende in Verbindung mit der OM-D M1 bei unterschiedlichen Lichtverhältnissen gemacht. Schärfer geht es kaum. Ausschnitte problemlos. Etwas für anspruchsvolle Fotografen. Und ab 1/60 Sek. waren Freihandaufnahmen weitgehend verwacklungsfrei. Schade, dass ich es nicht schon früher erhalten konnte. Zwar teuer, aber hochwertig und kein Leichtgewicht. Der Erfolg lohnt den Aufwand! Bin begeistert. W:D
