The remote release cable 13369-S connects a PocketWizard radio to the Sony multi/micro USB port to remotely release the camera. See the important note below regarding compatibility with your PocketWizard
With a remote camera, you can unleash your creativity and extend your photographic reach in unique ways. On location, a remote camera allows you to reach places that would otherwise be closed to you. Take pictures that no one else can take by triggering the camera at the same time as your main camera. Two pictures, two perspectives, one photographer! In the studio you can leave the camera and feel very close to your subjects.
Application:
Connect the 13369-S remote camera cable to the remote port of your camera and a receiving PocketWizard radio. Trigger your remote camera by either pressing the test button on a portable PocketWizard or by triggering the remote camera directly from the shutter button on your handheld camera. Attach the sending PocketWizard to the hot shoe of your handheld camera or connect it to the camera's PC port
Important note: If you are remotely triggering from a Sony handheld camera with PocketWizard in the hot shoe to a remote camera, especially if you want to use the electronic shutter, you must use the remote trigger cable S-VPR1-ACC on the handheld camera. For a remote Sony camera, you can use either the S-VPR1-ACC, the 13377-S cable or the 13369-S cable.
This cable can ONLY be used with a remote camera.
With the 13369-S you can also power your remote camera with an external USB battery pack. Simply connect the battery pack to the cable to power your camera. Note: The charging speed may vary. Please test this configuration with your camera to determine if the battery pack provides the required power. This function may not be compatible with all cameras, e.g. Sony Alpha 1.
Half-press/ pre-release options:
Activating the half-press function will pre-release the camera. This means that the remote shutter release camera is pre-released when the half-press function is activated, just like when the shutter release button on the remote shutter release camera is pressed halfway directly. Focus and exposure are checked automatically. The advantage of the half-press function is that your camera reacts more quickly to the actual shutter release signal, as it is ready to take the photo as soon as it receives the signal. The half-press function is available as an option on some PocketWizard wireless devices. Continuous half-press is available on all PocketWizard radios with a PTMM cable. See below for more information.
Plus III : Using a handheld radio: Half-press the test button on the handheld radio to pre-release your remote shutter camera, then press it fully to take the photo. If you are shooting with a handheld camera with the handheld radio mounted on the hot shoe, use a remote release cable that connects both the sending and receiving PocketWizard radios to activate the pre-release for the remote release camera. When you half-press the shutter button on your handheld camera, the Plus III radio should simultaneously pre-release the remote shutter camera. Note: Set the transmitting PocketWizard radio to transmit only for this configuration for best results.
Plus IV : The Plus IV can receive a half-push signal from a transmitting Plus III, but cannot transmit one. See above for details on how the half-push signal works. MultiMAX: You can pre-trigger a remote camera with the MultiMAX radios by enabling or disabling their zones. This function is available with the -ACC connection of MultiMAX devices without MSMM adapter. It is not available with older MultiMAX radios with only one connection on the top. The PTMM adapter can be added to any configuration to enable continuous pre-triggering. It is an adapter that connects to the cable of the remote camera and has a housing with a switch. When you turn it on, the camera is continuously pre-triggered. When it is switched off, the camera triggers after confirmation of focus and exposure. The camera reacts much faster, but consumes more battery power. FlexTT5, FlexTT6, Plus II, Plus Receiver, MultiMAX without -ACC connections: Half-press/pre-triggering is only possible with these devices using the PTMM adapter.
Compatibility:
PocketWizard compatibility: PocketWizard Plus III, Plus IV and MultiMAX (with USB) transceivers. NOTE: Compatibility with older Plus, Plus II and MultiMAX radios with synchronization port above, as well as FlexTT5 and FlexTT6 radios, cannot be guaranteed. An MSMM adapter may be required. When the camera switches to standby mode, the remote radio may hang up. You can set the standby timer in the camera so that the remote radio remains active for up to 30 minutes.
Sony compatibility: Only for Sony Alpha cameras and other cameras with Sony multi/micro USB connection for remote cameras. NOTE: For most mirrorless cameras, if you want to use the electronic shutter and shoot with a Sony handheld camera, you MUST use the S-VPR1-ACC remote camera cable on both the sending camera and radio and the remote camera and radio.
USB power supply: Although we have tested this cable with many Sony cameras, we cannot guarantee that it will power all cameras. This cable is not compatible with the Sony Alpha 1 and will not power the camera. However, you can use it to remotely trigger a camera.
