Panasonic goes full-frame
Following the development announcement of a Panasonic full-frame mirrorless system at Photokina in September 2018, Panasonic has now officially unveiled the new camera series. As was previously known, two bodies will go on sale. The Lumix S1 and Lumix S1R. In doing so, Panasonic is following a previously known trend of offering a high-resolution camera model with a 47-megapixel sensor (Lumix S1R). The Lumix S1 is equipped with a 24MP sensor and overtakes the role of the all-round model.
Full frame without compromise
Panasonic's focus with the S-series is on highest image quality, speed, operation and robustness. The Panasonic full-frame system stands out visibly from other full-frame cameras, such as Canon, Nikon or Sony, due to its size.
Lenses for Lumix S
Through the merger of Panasonic/Lumix, Leica and Sigma, Panasonic wants to create a fast and extensive lens availability. By the end of 2020, more than 10 lenses have been announced by Lumix, 11 by Leica and 14 by Sigma. In total, more than 35 native L lenses should be available by 2020. all L-mount lenses
