The OM SYSTEM OM-3 ASTRO is an astrophotography camera built for astrophotographers: in particular, it is perfect for capturing the intense red glow of nebulae. Thanks to its improved Hα sensitivity, made possible by a specially tuned IR cut filter and dedicated color profile control, it reproduces more color, contrast and fine details in emission nebulae and deep-sky photography, delivering impressive results right out of the camera.

Specially developed computerized functions make night and starry sky photography both intuitive and rewarding. The 50 MP High-Res Shot improves image quality by combining multiple exposures in-camera to create a high-resolution composite image. This improves fine details and reduces image noise - a valuable advantage for astrophotography and nighttime landscape photography when using a tripod or tracking/equatorial mount. Starry Sky AF ensures precise focusing on stars, while Live Composite simplifies long exposures by gradually building up images without overexposing bright areas.

Compact, weatherproof and intuitive to use, the OM-3 ASTRO is ideal for photographers who want to develop their astrophotography without adding complexity. Supported by OM SYSTEM's advanced computational photography, it delivers stunning images of the night sky and nebulae.

This is a dedicated astrophotography camera in which the IR cut filter positioned in front of the image sensor has been redesigned to achieve higher Hα transmission. This optimization enables significantly improved imaging of red emission nebulae with increased spectral fidelity and color accuracy.

Custom modes C1, C2 and C3 on the mode dial are pre-configured to provide quick access to features optimized for astrophotography. Each mode applies image quality settings designed to achieve natural-looking results for the specific shooting scenario.
Custom Mode C1: A mode that uses the handheld High-Res Shot to capture high-resolution astrophotography.
Custom Mode C2: A mode for effortless and straightforward night sky photography.
Custom Mode C3: A mode designed for handheld star landscape photography.

By using the color profile control, astrophotography and starscape photography can be presented with greater impact and visual appeal.
C1 + COLOR1: Suitable for capturing nebulae, constellations and other celestial objects with higher image quality.
C2 + COLOR2: Ideal for a balanced, high-quality shot of night skies and terrestrial landscapes.
C3+ COLOR2: Enables night photography with natural colors in a single shot and is particularly suitable for handheld or fast photography.

The OM-3 ASTRO's Handheld High Res Shot combines 12 shots into one high-resolution, low-noise image - with just one press of the shutter button.
