The Lenses in the Sports product line offer sophisticated optical quality and expressiveness and are ideal for fast action shots. They enable photographers to create exactly the shots they want. Construction

The SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM | Sports offers a highly effective dust- and splash-proof construction, making it designed for top performance in harsh, difficult shooting conditions. The front and rear lens elements have a water- and oil-repellent coating, so water can be easily wiped away and oil and grease cannot stick to the surface. This feature is especially useful when shooting in drizzle or spray near the sea.

Magnesium Alloy Lens Barrel
To minimize the weight of the Super Tele lens, the Lens barrel is made of magnesium alloy. This alloy, which is as light as it is durable, contributes to the excellent handling of the SIGMA 500mm F4 DG HSM | Sports.

Lenshood made of carbon fiber
The lens hood is made of carbon fiber, a particularly lightweight and robust material. The design of the entire Lens is designed for light weight with excellent performance to support the photographer even in difficult shooting conditions.

Tripod Clamp with 90° Detent
Since photographers often use a monopod or tripod to shoot with such a super-telephoto lens, the tripod clamp is designed to be large and extremely sturdy (the tripod clamp cannot be removed from the lens). Also, the anti-static nickel coating of the tripod clamp parts increases the quality and durability of the 90° detent. In addition, it becomes even easier to switch between landscape and portrait modes. To be able to align the Lens detached from the 90° detents, the detent on the Lens can be disengaged by a switch. The specially designed carrying strap (included) can be attached to the tripod clamp for easy transport. This also relieves the strain on the port of the camera to which the Lens is attached.

Superior Optical Performance
The Lens incorporates one SLD and two FLD glass elements, and the optimized power distribution helps minimize spherical aberration and longitudinal chromatic aberration. In addition, the optical design minimizes lateral chromatic aberrations that can otherwise affect telephoto shots. Image quality remains excellent even when the Lens is used with a SIGMA tele-converter (available as an option).

OS system with accelerometer sensor and new, intelligent OS algorithm
The optical stabilizer (OS) features an accelerometer sensor - for even more precise performance and for compensation of up to four exposure stops. Two OS modes are available: OS mode 1 is suitable for common photography, and mode 2 is ideally suited for motorsports photography and other moving subjects that require dragging. In Mode 2, the accelerometer, intelligent OS and new algorithm work together to provide effective stabilization whether the camera is moved horizontally, vertically or diagonally. This function enables effective panning and ensures superior shots of moving subjects.

AF function switch with preset AF modes
The AF function switch allows you to make your own personal autofocus settings. The Lens can remember the focus position of your choice or turn AF off until needed again.

2 Anytime MF Modes
The Manual-Override (MO) switch position has been added to the AF/MF switch as an additional focus mode option. When the switch is in the MO position, turning the focus ring will result in manual focus even in focus tracking AF mode. In the AF position, the default setting for Anytime MF is active. Using the SIGMA USB dock, MO sensitivity can be adjusted.

Quieter and faster AF
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures fast and silent AF. By further improving the drive algorithm of previous models, an additional increase in focus accuracy in focus tracking AF (AF-C) has been achieved.

Other features
The nearly circular aperture consists of 9 aperture blades and provides a very pleasing bokeh outside the plane of focus of the image. The Lens is equipped with a solid and precise brass bayonet. The special treatment of the surface to strengthen the strength allows long-term use. The Super Multi Layer (SML) coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides sharp and high contrast images, even when backlit.

This adapter expands the possible uses of lenses.

The MC-11 mount adapter makes it possible to use interchangeable lenses with a SIGMA EF mount on camera bodies with the Sony E-mount. In the past, there were already various methods that made it possible to use Lens of a certain camera system on a Body with another system. However, today's digital camera systems are much more complex and it is a difficult task to develop a mount adapter that matches both the mechanical components and the software requirements of Lens and camera. Even greater difficulties arise when developing an adapter that allows DSLR camera lenses to be attached to the bodies of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. In today's photographic market, there is a great need for such an adapter that not only adapts the flange focal distance, but also maintains full functionality.

The MC-11 mount adapter contains the data necessary to ensure fast and smooth AF and OS with compatible Lens. At the same time, they ensure compatibility with the camera functions that ensure edge illumination and correct lateral chromatic aberration, distortion and other problems.

Since the Sony E-mount camera bodies do not require the integration of lenses with a mechanical aperture control, the SIGMA EF interchangeable lenses and the SIGMA interchangeable lenses with Canon mount are fully compatible with the automatic exposure control of the Sony E-mount cameras by means of the MC-11 mount adapter.

The MC-11 mount adapter is an ideal addition to the equipment of professional photographers who work with different camera systems depending on the subject, and offers great advantages for amateur photographers who frequently use different camera systems. Their own equipment gains significantly in value if the existing lenses are compatible with different camera systems. In addition, users of Sony E-mount cameras can take advantage of an even wider range of compatible lenses with the adapter.
