The SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports is a fast telephoto zoom lens for mirrorless full-frame cameras.
In addition to the expressive imaging capabilities, thanks to the latest optical design, the lens offers a high level of performance and features that meet the expectations of professionals in both stills and video. The lens features a high-speed autofocus HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator), an optical stabilizer with the latest "OS2" algorithm and the outstanding weather resistance of the SIGMA Sports product line.

The 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports is our new zoom flagship.
Thanks to its continuous speed of F2.8, it offers maximum flexibility in all lighting situations. The high-speed autofocus with new dual HLA drive ensures a high hit rate even with moving subjects. The new OS2 algorithm increases the range of optical stabilization to up to 7.5 stops*. These features ensure professional results with consistently high imaging performance even under difficult conditions.

The Lens remains compact and mobile, making it ideal for taking with you wherever you go. Its dust and splash water protection and internal zoom design ensure maximum durability in everyday use. The equipment with "de-clickable" aperture ring, switch for customer functions and newly designed tripod clamp leaves nothing to be desired.

The modern optical and mechanical design results in a significantly smaller and lighter body of the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports compared to the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG OS HSM | Sports. This reflects the trend towards compact and mobile equipment. At the same time, the usual high build quality is not compromised. Thanks to the use of different materials such as magnesium, CFRP*1 or TSC*2, a high level of robustness is guaranteed. This also applies to the operating elements such as switches and rings. Here, attention was also paid to excellent haptics and operability.

CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), a light but stable material that is used for the interior and exterior of aircraft, among other things.

TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum. It has a high similarity to metal parts, which contributes to high-quality product manufacturing.

Internal zoom mechanism
With the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports, the focal length adjustment is carried out by a zoom mechanism inside the Lens. This means that the overall length of the lens does not change when zooming and less dust and moisture can get inside the lens. The constant overall length is also an advantage when shooting hand-held or when using a gimbal.

Weather-resistant like all Sports lenses
Like all lenses in the Sports line, the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports is also protected against the ingress of dust and splash water*. The bayonet, control rings, switches and tube connections are sealed and protected. In addition, the front element of the Lens has a water and oil-repellent coating to make cleaning easier.

* The Body is dust and splash-proof, but not waterproof. Make sure that the Lens does not come into contact with a large amount of water. Water inside the lens can cause major damage and even irreparable damage to the lens.

Lens features:
DG lenses
SIGMA's DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital cameras with sensors up to 24x36mm format (colloquially known as full-frame format). The use of state-of-the-art coating processes successfully eliminates ghost images caused by reflections on the sensor surface, while achieving a balanced color balance and outstanding optical performance.
As these lenses also illuminate the analog film format 24x36mm, their use on some suitable analog cameras is also possible, although we would ask you to contact us in individual cases.

DN lenses
High-performance lenses developed exclusively for mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. The latest technology in lens development ensures high optical performance, a compact design and quiet autofocus. The excellent telecentricity guarantees sharp and high-resolution image quality across the entire image plane.

Optical Stabilizer (OS)
Sensors in the Lens detect camera movements that can lead to blurring in the image and, in conjunction with a movably suspended lens element, these movements are compensated for. As a result, your photographic options for freehand shots are increased considerably. Stabilized Lens allow you to shoot handheld without blurring for 3 - 4 exposure stops longer than usual. On camera models that are already equipped with a stabilizer, you have the choice of using the camera's stabilizer or that of the Lens. However, stabilizers in the Lens always have the advantage that they also provide you with a stabilized viewfinder image. This means that nothing stands in the way of an accurate assessment of the image and precise use of the focus.

ASP
Normally, light rays close to the edge are refracted more strongly towards the center when passing through a lens than light rays close to the axis. Images taken with an uncorrected system can therefore be blurred towards the edge. The aspherical correction of an optical system now eliminates numerous imaging errors at once. Sharpness is achieved across the entire field of view, distortion is reduced to a minimum and the lens can be made smaller and lighter due to our advanced correction methods. Almost all of our lenses are equipped with at least one aspherical lens element.

Internal focusing (IF)
With internally focused lenses, only one or more lens groups are moved inside the lens to focus. As with rear-focus Lens, this results in many advantages: Internal focusing ensures faster and quieter focusing. With IF lenses, the overall length of the lens remains constant during focusing and the front element does not rotate, which allows you to conveniently use polarizing filters and a tulip-shaped lens hood. As the overall length of the Lens remains constant during focusing, there is no noticeable weight shift when focusing with this system. As a result, the Lens is well balanced at all times
