More reach with clear and precise images
The versatile focal length range of 70-200mm allows you to take impressive photos and steady video recordings, while the high speed of 1:2.8 ensures attractive background blur. The optical image stabilizer for up to 5.5 stops of exposure1 ensures sharp results - even more stops are possible with a camera with internal image stabilization (IBIS)2.

Sharp and high-contrast images
Two Super UD lenses, one UD lens, three aspherical lenses and ASC and Super Spectra coatings prevent aberrations, ghosting and flare. A fluorine coating also protects the front lens from dirt.

Fast, agile and intuitive
The aperture can be changed smoothly using the special aperture ring. In video mode, this is possible with 1/32 f-stops. An unlock switch for the "Auto" position provides better control and the 11-blade iris diaphragm ensures an attractive circular bokeh.

Precise autofocus for photos and videos
The Dual Nano USM ensures consistent autofocus. Professional video functions such as an electronically assisted parfocal zoom for high focus stability when zooming and the suppression of focus breathing ensure sharp and stable images.

Even smoother zooming - also remote-controlled
The optional Power Zoom Adapters PZ-E2 and PZ-E2B can be operated manually or via the Canon Camera Connect App, EOS Utility, Browser Remote or via IP with the Canon XC protocol of compatible cameras. The 20-pin interface of the PZ-E2B also supports zoom/focus devices and zoom rockers.
