SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A032)
Tamron presents the new fast zoom lens, SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (Model A032), for full-frame DSLR cameras. The 24-70mm G2 is a fast F/2.8 zoom and has been extensively redesigned compared to its predecessor to offer the highest image quality and performance.

The new Dual MPU (Micro Processing Unit) enables faster autofocus with improved accuracy and the world's best image stabilization in its class*1 (CIPA standards of 5 stops).

Tamron's exclusive eBAND coating reduces stray light and light reflections inside the Lens. Even when shooting against the light, the new Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 achieves flawless, brilliant image results. In addition, the front lens of the A032 model has a water and grease-repellent fluorine coating. The new Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 is protected against the ingress of splash water and dust at all critical points with special seals. Demanding photographers can use the new fast zoom lens for a wide range of applications, including landscape, portrait, reportage, travel and much more.

Highlights of the new SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2
1.Sophisticated design ensures outstanding performance and the highest image quality
The use of special, high-quality glass materials ensures accurate color reproduction and superior sharpness, perfect for the demands of today's high-quality camera sensors. The optical design (17 elements in 12 groups) uses 2 XR (Extra Refractive Index) elements, 3 LD (Low Dispersion) elements, 3 GM (Glass-Molded aspherical) elements and a hybrid aspherical lens element.
The high-performance Lens minimizes image aberrations such as chromatic aberrations (colour fringing), to which fast zoom lenses are somewhat more susceptible, while ensuring a uniformly high image quality over the entire image area.

2optimized eBAND coating
All lens elements are coated with an eBAND coating (Extendes Bandwidth + Angular-Dependency) developed by Tamron especially for the SP 24-70mm G2. This technology combines a conventional multi-coating and a nano-coating with an extremely low refractive index.
The high anti-reflective properties of this combination provide a very effective anti-reflection coating on the lens surfaces, minimizing stray light and light reflections inside the lens. Brilliant image results are achieved with the new zoom lens even when shooting against the light.

3. New Dual-MPU (Micro-Processing Unit) control system offers faster and more precise autofocus and improved image stabilization
The innovative control system uses a dual-MPU design with improved processing power. With this design, autofocus and image stabilization do not share an MPU, but are each controlled by their own processor. This results in faster and more precise AF performance and more powerful image stabilization. In combination, low light performance has also been improved.

High-performance MPU improves autofocus accuracy and speed
The 24-70mm G2 is equipped with a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor to ensure excellent focusing speed and accuracy. The use of a stand-alone MPU enables fast digital signal processing to achieve excellent

responsiveness and very precise autofocus control.
The new MPU delivers the highest image stabilization in its class
The new Lens is equipped with Tamron's proven VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization. The Dual MPU in combination with the latest stabilization algorithm ensures the highest stabilization in this lens class*1: 5 f-stops according to the CIPA standard. Even in low light or at slow shutter speeds, photographers can enjoy sharp shots with ease and comfort.

4. Weatherproof design and fluorine coating
The body of the SP 24-70mm G2 is protected against the ingress of splash water and dust at all critical points with special seals. The Lens can be used without hesitation in all weather conditions as well as in damp and dirty environments.
The front lens has a water and grease-repellent fluorine coating. The outer surface is therefore particularly easy to clean and insensitive to fingerprints, moisture or damage caused by adhering dirt particles.

5. Manufactured to the highest Super Performance quality standard
The Tamron Super Performance series meets the high demands of discerning photographers. With the introduction of the new SP design with the SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD model, not only has the design been further developed, but strict standards have also been set for design, manufacturing and quality.
For the SP 24-70mm G2 model, Tamron has developed a unique MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) tester to achieve consistent optical performance in manufacturing and to meet the demand for higher image quality.
Tamron will continue to improve and develop the accuracy of the individual components of each lens element unit and the mechanical precision of the entire Lens.

6electromagnetic diaphragm
The model variant with Nikon mount is now equipped with an electromagnetically controlled diaphragm unit*2. This allows even more precise exposure, as the aperture blades open and close very precisely. This function was already integrated as standard in models with a Canon mount.

7. Compatible with the Tamron TAP-in console, optionally available
Tamron's TAP-in console allows the zoom lens to be adapted to the individual needs of the photographer. The firmware can be updated and the autofocus and image stabilization can be adjusted via a software application and a USB connection to the computer.

preislich interessante Alternative zum Kamerahersteller
Das Tamron Zoom ist ausgezeichnet verarbeitet und bietet auch optisch ein hohes Niveau. Im Vergleich zum Canon 24-70 ist es mit einem sehr effektiven Stabilisator ausgestattet, der den Einsatzbereich bei Low Light erweitert aber ca. 100 Gramm Zusatzgewicht mit sich bringt. Im Vergleich zum Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 ist das Objektiv ca. 100 Gramm leichter. Ich verwende das Objektiv an einer EOS R zusammen mit dem EF-Adapter und bin insgesamt mit der Qualität sehr zufrieden. Bei komplett offener Blende ist ein minimaler Schärfeabfall in den Bildrändern erkennbar. Das wird aber schon beim Abblenden um eine Stufe kaum noch erkennbar. Der ca. 600 € günstigere Preis und der Bildstabilisator waren die Gründe mich nicht für das Canon Objektiv zu entscheiden.
