German Skateboard Championship 2019
As part of this year's Skateweek (SKTWK), the sports city of D?sseldorf once again hosted the official German Skateboard Championships. On August 31 and September 1, 2019, the best skaters in Germany, as well as others from Austria and Switzerland, competed against each other in the two disciplines "Skateboard Park" and "Skateboard Street". The Skatepark Eller offers ideal conditions for major competitions and enjoys an excellent reputation among skaters. Second place in the men's championship in the park discipline goes to Lenni Janssen from D?sseldorf, who is busy collecting points for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Film and photo equipment
We filmed and photographed at the German Skateboard Championships. We used Sony Alpha cameras and the new compact Sony RX0 II for filming. The Alpha 7 III was mounted on a gimbal, the Zhiyun Crane 3 LAB , with the Zeiss 16-35 f4.0 as the main camera. This resulted in moving videos and panning shots. The autofocus of the Alpha 7 III works reliably, only in exceptional situations does the AF not do what it should. For close-ups we alternately use the Alpha 6400 and an Alpha 7 RIII with the GMaster 70-200mm f2.8. The extremely fast autofocus of the Alpha 6400 is particularly positive when filming. Face detection at FHD 50p worked extremely reliably, unfortunately this function is not available at 100p. We were able to capture special perspectives with several Sony RX0 IIs. These were mounted on small Joby Gorillapods and set up close to the obstacles, or used as time-lapse cameras. The Alpha 7 RIII was additionally equipped with the GMaster 24-70 f2.8 for photography. The high dynamic range of even the JPGs is surprising.

Our summary of the event
At the Eller Skatepark, photographers also have the opportunity to improve their sports photography skills and photograph adventurous skate tricks outside of the German Championships. Come and have a look, or see you at the next Skateboard DM.
