Modular photo backpacks - adapted to your equipment
Backpacks for photographers come in different sizes to fit different needs. We show you several TOP photo backpacks in our article, especially for large camera equipment. The trend in 2018 goes further and further to modular photo backpacks. The backpack becomes a photo backpack only when the matching camera unit is purchased.
Each manufacturer uses different names for it:

These inlays can be thought of as an extra bag, specially designed for camera equipment. On the inside, dividers can be installed by means of Velcro. Clever details and security for the backpack contents
The PRVKE features many clever details such as the height-adjustable roll top, several zippered pockets with DeepL access for smartphone and keychain, the combined tablet and laptop compartment and an elastic outer pocket for a water bottle. We were particularly impressed by how the contents in the PRVKE are reliably protected from damage and theft: the sealed zippers prevent moisture from penetrating in light rain, and the pocket for the smartphone is lined with a soft fleece material. Special highlight: in the area of the lower back there is a special pocket for the passport or cash, which can be accessed only when the backpack is set down.

NYA-EVO Fjord 36 Action Pack
The Fjord 36 is a photo backpack designed for action use. Based on the concept of the well-known backpack manufacturer F-STOP, the goal was to produce a photo backpack that is suitable for outdoor use. The NYA-Evo holds 36 liters and is also a modular bag that can be expanded with three available RCUs (inlays), depending on the volume breakdown the photographer desires. The Fjord 36 is available in four colors.
Highlights of the Fjord 36:
- optimal load management, due to full-size aluminum frame and hip belt
- high weather resistance, YKK Aquaguard zippers and rain cover included in delivery

The spacious NYA-EVO Fjord 36 backpack holds 36 liters of gear and meets the carry-on requirements of most airlines. With a full-size aluminum frame, extremely water-resistant and durable materials, the robust NYA-EVO Fjord 36 is an all-rounder for any adventure. High quality components, tested at the factory and outdoors, ensure absolutely worry-free performance at all times.
Compact carrying comfort
The compression and equipment attachment straps allow you to carry, for example, tripods on the outside of the backpack. Tightening these straps pulls the load onto the aluminum frame for optimal carrying comfort, close to the body and provides stability during dynamic activities. The Fjord 36 thus fits close to the body at all times.
Prepared for mobile water supply
The backpack also features an optional HYDRATION SYSTEM that can supply the wearer with water via a hose including a mouthpiece.
Versatility for photo equipment
The large, versatile backpack becomes interesting for photographers due to the optional RCI inserts. RCI stands for Removable Camera Insert, which means that these photo inlays can not only be used quickly and independently outside the backpack at any time. They also come in three different sizes. Depending on the size of the camera equipment or the desire to transport other luggage, the proportion of photo equipment can be varied between 20% (S) and 80% (L) of the total volume.
Variable optional camera inserts (Removable Camera Insert)
The smallest insert RCI-S holds a camera, three lenses and a few accessories. With the largest insert RCI-L, two bodies, three lenses plus telephoto lens and accessories can be transported easily and safely.
