4K UHD resolution
Thanks to its 3840 x 2160 resolution (4K UHD), the CG2700X has the enormous pixel density of 164 ppi. Visible monitor pixels are thus guaranteed to be a thing of the past, and even the monitor display gives a very meaningful impression of the subsequent print resolution. The IPS panel has a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m² and achieves a contrast ratio of 1450:1. Movies can be assessed, edited and graded with the CG2700X in full 4K UHD resolution. The LCD module allows a viewing angle of 178 degrees. This means that color tones and contrasts remain stable in the user's viewing cone.
Wide Gamut Color Space for Saturated Colors
In order to make use of the full color spectrum of modern cameras, you need a monitor with the widest possible color space. Otherwise, visual assessment and processing of the saturated color tones contained in the file are not possible. That's why the IPS panel of the ColorEdge CG2700X covers, for example, the large photo color space AdobeRGB as well as the CMYK print color space ISO-Coated V2 to more than 99%. This means that the full color spectrum of modern cameras is displayed unaltered and without gaps. And a precise simulation of the print result in the softproof view is also guaranteed.
Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to 16-bit LUT and 10-bit mode
The LUT (Look-Up-Table) of the CG2700X calculates internally with an extremely high color depth of 16 bits and the panel then outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. This means that billions of color tones are available for calculating the precise monitor display. Display errors caused by the monitor, such as banding or clipping, which result in tonal value breaks in gradients or color casts in the grayscale, are thus effectively prevented. Even fine nuances and structures in dark or highly saturated image areas are thus still displayed in a differentiated and detailed manner.
True Black: Color depth for vivid images
With its high contrast ratio, the CG2700X displays deep blacks, which often appear pale or washed out on a typical LCD monitor due to the backlighting. This is especially true when viewing the monitor from the side in dimly lit rooms. For this purpose, the CG Series is equipped with a retardation film that allows for this depth of blacks even at wide viewing angles.
Digital Uniformity Equalizer: Perfection across the entire screen
Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured across its entire surface at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness and color casts are detected and removed. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) guarantees that identical colors always look the same over the monitor's entire service life, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to ensure precise image editing and retouching.
Built-in self-calibration sensor
The built-in calibration sensor helps you achieve maximum color accuracy. The sensor is perfectly matched to the monitor, taking into account environmental influences such as light and correlating the center and edge of the image. This ensures uniform results across the entire monitor.
The sensor is located in the housing frame and only extends for measurement. An external calibration device is therefore unnecessary and the monitor's color accuracy is optimal at all times.
The CG2700X is equipped with the latest sensor technology, which enables re-calibration on the fly. This allows you to continue working with non-color-critical applications while the monitor calibrates. The sensor only takes up a small amount of space on the screen during calibration and is therefore not distracting. Likewise, calibration can take place completely automatically at definable times, even when the computer is turned off or not connected to the monitor at all.
Stable display thanks to industry-leading AI
To ensure that hue, color, brightness and other characteristics are always accurately displayed even when the ambient temperature changes, the ColorEdge CG2700X is equipped with a temperature sensor. It accurately measures the temperature inside the monitor, while an AI (artificial intelligence)-assisted correction algorithm* distinguishes between different temperature change patterns and calculates an accurate correction in real time.

Stable color reproduction in as little as three minutes
With a conventional monitor, it takes at least 30 minutes for brightness, chroma and tone to stabilize. The ColorEdge CG2700X, on the other hand, requires only three minutes, so users can rely on reliable colors shortly after switching on the monitor.
Ready for use Out of the Box: Perfect from the Factory
To ensure that a ColorEdge is ready for use right out of the box, each individual ColorEdge CG2700X is individually measured and optimally adjusted at the factory. For this purpose, the gamma curves of the red, green and blue channels are closely checked and, if necessary, corrected. This unique EIZO factory calibration allows the user to use the monitor with the preset color spaces right out of the box. This elaborate factory calibration is also the reason why recalibration with ColorNavigator by the user is so fast.
EIZO software for fast calibration and printing
Every monitor ages and changes its display characteristics in the process. That's why graphic monitors, which require an absolutely constant image display over their entire service life, must be calibrated and corrected on a regular basis. With the free calibration software ColorNavigator from EIZO, the ColorEdge CG2700X can be corrected within 90 seconds (measured with MacBook Pro and EX4), easily and without loss. So that the same image on the monitor still looks the same in five years.
For users who want to calibrate several monitors in the company, EIZO offers the ColorNavigator Network tool. This allows the quality management of many ColorEdge monitors to be carried out centrally. Among other things, an administrator can deliver calibration targets to users and trigger the automatic calibration of ColorEdge monitors of the CG series. With the help of a secure cloud server offered by EIZO, it is possible to administer this centralized quality management across numerous locations or even continents.
EIZO Microchip for Optimal Color Reproduction
The CG2700X features a high-quality microchip (ASIC, Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) that EIZO developed specifically for the special requirements of color-compliant work. This microchip is the brain of every ColorEdge and the guarantor for the precise, uniform and consistent image display for which EIZO is known.

The CG2700X is optimized for the special requirements of video post-production. The extremely powerful built-in sensor also allows validation of the calibration result and the 3D-LUT guarantees the highest precision.
Precise color reproduction thanks to high-resolution 3D-LUT
The 3D-LUT ensures the most precise tonal value assignment and extremely accurate color tone reproduction, which can be seen, among other things, in the gray wedge. In LCDs, the degrees of brightness in relation to the image signal and the color mixing (addition) of red, green and blue vary from module to module. This can only be accurately recorded and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices. Ex factory, EIZO therefore adjusts each CG Series monitor and its color and tone curve. As a result, a consistent color temperature is achieved across the entire gray scale. As a result, color reproduction is consistent, precise and reliable on every single CG2700X.
The 3D LUT also offers advantages when working with movies: Using the included ColorNavigator software, you can emulate the coloring of film material. This allows you to see in advance how colors will be reproduced during playback. The 3D LUT also improves the monitor's additive color mixing (mixing of red, green and blue). This is a key factor in correctly displaying neutral grays.
HDR Gamma
The ColorEdge CG2700X supports the two gamma curves for HDR video: the Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) curve and the Perceptual Quantization (PQ) curve. Up to the maximum brightness of 500 cd/m², the CG2700X thus ensures a meaningful impression of the processed HDR material, so that an HDR reference monitor such as the ColorEdge CG3146 is often only required in the final production step.
Color space presets for film and video production
Presets for the DCI-P3, BT.709 and BT.2020 color spaces are precisely calibrated ex works and ensure working with correct gamma values. In addition, color modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) for displaying HDR content are also preset at the factory. The brightness setting for each preset can be conveniently adjusted and recalibrated thanks to the integrated calibration sensor.
Safely in view thanks to the Safe Area Marker
Ideal for subtitles and critical images: Thanks to the Safe Area Marker, you know which area of the scene is displayed in a different aspect ratio. You can therefore see immediately whether subtitles, texts or important image elements are in the visible area. To make the marker easy to see on every frame, you can adjust the marker color, size, as well as the aspect ratio.
Automatic Color Settings
For consistent color settings throughout the production process, the ColorEdge CG2700X offers a Sync Signal feature that adjusts monitor settings such as signal range and color format to match the video signal.
Luminance Warning
Luminance warning can be used to highlight areas that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000 cd/m²) when using PQ mode. These areas are marked in either yellow or magenta.
Gamut warning
The gamut warning works in two modes: Rec. 2020 Image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec. 709 color space is displayed in grayscale. Alternatively, Rec. 709 clipping mode simulates how Rec. 2020 material would look on HDTV sets.
Nearest Neighbor interpolation setting
The ColorEdge CG2700X offers the Nearest Neighbor interpolation setting as an option for image scaling and resampling. In this upscaling, Nearest Neighbor copies adjacent pixels while maintaining color fidelity. When Nearest Neighbor is disabled, color tones are interpolated between adjacent pixels, providing smoother transitions. Users can select the interpolation method best suited to the project for different resolutions.
Ideal for video and film production: HDMI
Movies are typically recorded at 24 fps. Therefore, they look unnatural when played back at 60 hz, which is standard for monitors. The monitor supports a frame rate of 24 and 60 Hz. You can view and edit your footage as it was recorded.
HDMI signals are supported with refresh rates of 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24 Hz. In addition, the monitor features I/P conversion.
4K Zoom
To assess detail and sharpness, users can quickly and easily zoom into different areas of the monitor image via selections directly from the monitor menu.
DCI 4K Cropping
The DCI 4K Cropping feature allows users to view a DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) signal and crop content outside the limits of the panel's native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution. Users can choose between three options that determine which part of the image is displayed.
Connectivity
More and more creatives use their mobile computers not only on the go. Often, the powerful notebook is the only computer. Therefore, there is an increasing desire to integrate the mobile computer as easily as possible into the fixed workstation at home or at work. EIZO supports this trend with the ColorEdge graphics monitors.
State-of-the-art connectivity with USB-C
image signal, USB data transfer as well as power supply with up to 94 W, all this and more can be realized with a single USB-C cable. This turns the ColorEdge CG2700X into the central dock of the graphic workflow. Peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or printer can be connected directly to the USB-A ports. Mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can even be charged with up to 94 W via the USB-C cable. This turns the laptop and CG2700X into a fully-fledged desktop workstation in one quick step.
Monitor connections
The CG2700X supports a wide range of video formats via USB-C, HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. Thus, the monitor can not only be integrated into PC-based workflows, but can also be used with HDMI players.
LAN port for stable network connection
The monitor has a dedicated LAN port for a wired network connection. Notebooks or PCs only need to be connected to the CG2700X via USB cable to access the network signal via the monitor. This is an advantage especially for notebooks that no longer have a LAN port. This allows fast and stable data transfer, as required for video conferencing, for example. As a network device, the monitor has its own MAC address.
KVM switch: Two PCs, one operation
It has never been easier to operate two PCs with a single mouse and keyboard. With two USB upstream ports (USB-C and USB-B), the ColorEdge CG2700X has a built-in KVM (Keyboard Video Mouse) switch. The monitor automatically links the mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. This means, for example, that a desktop PC and a laptop, or a work PC and a home PC, can be operated on the same combination of monitor, mouse and keyboard. Switching is then done conveniently with the sensor button on the front of the monitor. This ensures uninterrupted work and a tidy workspace.

For the sake of your eyes: flicker-free work
Many monitors flicker imperceptibly. You may not consciously notice this flickering, but it causes your eyes to tire more quickly. That's why EIZO attaches great importance to making its monitors flicker-free. The advantage for the user: The eyes do not tire as quickly and you can work longer without straining at the screen.
Perfectly anti-reflective
Nothing is more annoying than dazzling reflections on the monitor. That's why all EIZO monitors are effectively anti-reflective. This not only protects your eyes from strain, but also prevents you from adopting an uncomfortable position in front of the monitor.
Stand - ergonomic and stable
Our monitors can be continuously adjusted in height and, depending on the model, lowered to the base plate of the stand. This allows for optimal ergonomics, whether you are standing or sitting in front of the screen. In addition, you can rotate, swivel and tilt the monitor stand in the way that is most comfortable for your sitting posture.
The CG2700X can also be rotated into portrait mode, which is a great advantage for tethered shoots in portrait mode in people photography, for example.

The CG2700X is designed for a long service life - typically well beyond the five-year warranty. Replacement parts are available for up to five years after production ends.
