96 kHz/24-bit, linear PCM recording quality

Supports a maximum sampling frequency of 96 kHz and linear PCM recording with a quantization bit rate of up to 24 bits (three times as much information as a CD). In addition, the lossless compressed FLAC recording and playback format allows high sound quality to be maintained at a small file size. MP3 audio format is also available at up to 320kps.

Intelligent Auto, Manual and Smart recording modes

Intelligent Auto dynamically adjusts volume automatically. Manual mode allows you to fine-tune the recording level to the volume of the audio source. Our new Smart mode sets the optimal recording level by listening to the environment before recording.

Bright sound, optimal for voice recording

The new "Bright Sound" mode provides clearer recordings of the spoken word, such as vlogging, lectures, or meetings. Recording with increased midrange and treble levels allows you to record audio while minimizing the effects of ambient noise.

Custom scene modes for easy recording

Not only can you save your custom settings, but the LS-P5 also offers 2-microphone noise reduction for recording in noisy environments. This is a "scene mode" known as Noisy Situation. It is designed to record spoken audio in very noisy environments. One microphone listens to the background noise while the user speaks into the other microphone.

Pre-recording ensures you don't miss anything

With the 2-second pre-recording mode, you'll never miss an opportunity to record birds chirping or lectures due to a control delay. The recorder can also be controlled via the DVR.Remote smartphone app.

The built-in 16 GB memory offers up to 7 hours in 96kHz/24bit Hi-Res or 21 hours in CD quality. Micro SD cards up to 2TB (XC Type I) can also be used.

Includes 2 AAA NiMh rechargeable batteries that can be charged via USB. Also supports parallel operation and charging of batteries with AC adapter.

Microphone and headphone jack

Whether you connect an external microphone or use it as a camera microphone, the LS-P5 provides MIC-IN and Line-In as well as a headphone output.

Slate Tone and Test Tone for recording video sound sources

Slate Tone allows you to send a reference signal to your digital camera to facilitate editing. Test Tone allows you to adjust camera audio recording levels.

Tripod mount

The LS-P5 has a ¼-inch screw thread for mounting to a camera (via a hot shoe adapter) or microphone stand.

Built-in editing and playback functions

The LS-P5 provides a number of built-in functions without the need for a computer.

Normalization

For loud recordings, normalization can be selected to increase the volume while maintaining quality and avoiding distortion.

Splitting and cutting audio files

The built-in editing function allows you to split or cut long recordings on the LS-P5 without the need for post-processing. In addition, you can add fade-ins and fade-outs to audio files.

Find your recordings quickly with Calendar Search

Calendar Search automatically marks your saved recordings with the date and displays them in a calendar format, making them easier to find.

Additional playback options

The LS-P5 features noise reduction for clear playback quality and efficient voice playback, automatically skipping unspoken portions and playing back only the parts of the file where speaking occurs to save time and improve playback during transcription.

Easily organize your recordings with custom folders

In addition to creating folders, you can give recording folders names like "Conference" or "Lecture." You can also change folder and file names using the DVR.Remote smartphone app.
