Even with the aperture wide open, the resolving power over the entire image area is very high. The new optical design also ensures extremely thorough correction of all types of aberration. The outstanding performance of the Lens is guaranteed by testing with SIGMA's own MTF measurement system.

The optical construction consists of 21 elements in 15 groups.
Including 4 FLD and 3 SLD glass elements with low dispersion and 2 aspherical lens elements. By correcting sagittal coma and other aberrations, the Lens is able to accurately reproduce bright points of light across the entire image area, even at wide apertures. This characteristic makes it the ideal tool for astrophotography.

To support the heavy elements of the optical system, metal components are used at key points of the lens housing. In addition, the use of TSC* plastics at suitable points ensures optimum weight reduction. Control elements such as rings and switches offer excellent haptics and operability. Thanks to the highly developed production technologies at the SIGMA plant in Aizu, Japan, the tolerances in the manufacturing process are in the micrometer range. Together with the craftsmanship of SIGMA employees, this ensures high performance and lasting value of the Lens.

The SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE offers an AFL button that can be assigned individual functions on compatible cameras. The lens also has the characteristic aperture ring for direct adjustment of the aperture on the lens. Thanks to the "de-click function", this feature is also interesting for filmmakers, as the aperture can be adjusted silently and steplessly. Those who prefer to set the aperture on the camera body can simply use the lock function of the aperture ring and are protected against accidental adjustment.

The SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE | Art is equipped with many functions that make photography easier. These include an AFL button, which can be assigned a preferred function, and an aperture ring with "de-click function". An HLA drive (High-response Linear Actuator) ensures fast, quiet and precise autofocus. The body is dust and splash-proof and the workmanship is designed for durability and reliability.

A small edge on the front of the lens ensures that a lens warmer or heating sleeve fits securely. This reliably prevents the risk of vignetting due to a slipped cuff.

The SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE | Art is equipped with an MFL switch. This can be used to decouple the focus ring. Unintentional adjustment of the manually set focus point is thus reliably prevented. An invaluable aid when photographing the starry sky.

Rear filter holder
The rear filter holder accepts standard film filters. Thanks to the enclosed template, you can easily cut them to size yourself.

Front cap with locking mechanism and filter compartments
The special LC1040-01 front cap offers secure protection for the front lens of the SIGMA 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE | Art and, unlike other snap-on caps, can be locked. Furthermore, its integrated filter compartments ensure the safe and clean transportation of two of the optionally available foil filters for the rear filter holder.

Tripod clamp Arca-Swiss compatible
The lightweight and robust TS-141* tripod clamp made of magnesium alloy is Arca-Swiss compatible and detachable. With its help, the Lens can be mounted securely and balanced on a tripod. Thanks to its special shape, it can also be easily used in combination with a lens warmer.

High-quality coating
An ideal lens directs the incident light through all lenses to the sensor.
If, on the other hand, some of the light is reflected by individual lenses, not only is the light yield reduced; the reflections within the lens create ghost images and flare spots or reduce the contrast. Such effects would be particularly noticeable in backlit shots.

To prevent this, our 15mm F1.4 DG DN DIAGONAL FISHEYE | Art uses Super Multi-Layer Coating (SML), which reduces stray light and ghost images. The result is clear, sharp and high-contrast images without distracting lens flares.
