This compact F2.8 full-frame wide-angle zoom lens fits perfectly with α series cameras, getting the best out of them from ultra-wide 16mm to wide 25mm focal lengths thanks to cutting-edge technology. The entire range utilizes the high G LensTM resolution and bokeh. The precise AF ensures fast, clear focus. Ideal for wide-angle photography and videos.

Razor-sharp details at all focal lengths
3 ED glass elements and 4 aspherical elements, including an aspherical glass element, deliver high-resolution results from 16-25 mm. Reflections, ghosting effects, color bleeding are dampened for clear reproduction, F2.8 aperture and 11 aperture blades provide stunning G Lens bokeh. The maximum magnification is 0.2x (AF)/0.23x (MF) with a minimum focus distance of 0.18m (AF)/0.17m (MF) at the wide end for powerful close-ups.

AF that gets the best out of powerful cameras
Two specially optimized linear motors and a precise control system focus any subject remarkably quickly and accurately. Tracking performance is also excellent, rivaling even Sony's advanced α9 III at up to 120 frames per second.1 The precise, quiet focus is maintained even when shooting 4K 120p/FHD 240p movies at high frame rates.

A compact, versatile F2.8 wide-angle zoom lens
The innovative Lens features four aspherical elements, including an aspherical glass element, and a large maximum F2.8 aperture with powerful optics. It has a diameter of just 74.8 mm and a length of 91.4 mm (3 x 3-5/8 inches). Some parts are made of technical plastic, which improves durability and reduces the weight to 409 grams. This makes it ideal for long exposures or low light conditions.

Ideal for movies: constant F2.8 in a mobile zoom
Wide angle and F2.8 aperture in a compact, lightweight, handheld zoom lens, and quiet AF can offer big advantages. Zoom extension and change of center of gravity are minimal, making it easy to attach to gimbals or drones. Internal Active Mode Stabilization3 enables stable, handheld wide-angle shooting on the move. Breathing Compensation4 and metadata recording are supported.

Comprehensive control in a compact Lens
Focus, zoom and iris rings offer comprehensive control. The aperture ring has switchable click stops. The focus hold button and AF/MF switch are customizable. A linear response MF provides instant, intuitive manual focus control. The dust- and moisture-resistant design increases reliability in difficult outdoor conditions5, the front lens is fluorine-coated. Filter diameter: 67 mm.
