Product description for Sony SEL 24-105mm f/4.0 G OSS Sony FE mount

The new full-frame lens covers the important focal length range between 24 and 105 millimeters and offers outstanding image quality in a lightweight, compact design that photographers and filmmakers have come to expect from G Lenses.

The FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens can be used for a wide variety of shots such as landscapes, portraits, weddings. This Lens also features fast, accurate and quiet autofocusing for both still and video shooting, making it an ideal addition to Sony's comprehensive lineup of E-mount lenses.

Outstanding Optical Performance and Premium Resolution
Sony's new FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens ensures razor-sharp images throughout the zoom range while producing pleasing "bokeh" or background blur at all focal lengths.

It owes this high image quality to its sophisticated optical design with four aspherical lens elements, two of which are precision AA (Advanced Aspherical) lens elements. It also incorporates three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements, which together with the aforementioned aspherical lens elements ensure that chromatic aberrations are minimized and photos or videos can be taken with extremely high resolution.

The lens also features Sony's special nano-coating to minimize ghosting and light reflection, and has a circular aperture to ensure the high-quality bokeh characteristic of G Series lenses.

Compact, lightweight design and shooting flexibility
The new FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens weighs only about 663 grams, making it the lightest lens in its class[i].

Combined with one of Sony's compact E-mount bodies, it represents by far a more mobile and easier-to-use camera system for photographers, significantly increasing their shooting flexibility.

Not only is the new Lens compact and highly versatile with its focal length range of 24 to 105mm, it is also suitable for impressive close-ups thanks to its minimum focus distance of just 38 centimeters. Optical image stabilization is also built in, making it easier to take sharp, blur-free handheld shots.

State-of-the-art and precise autofocus
To keep fast-moving subjects in focus, the new standard zoom lens is equipped with a DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) system that can position the lenses of the lens extremely precisely and quietly. This autofocus and a constant F4 aperture at all focal lengths make the SEL24105G the Lens of choice for photo and video shooting.

The versatility of the new standard zoom lens is further enhanced by a customizable focus hold button, a dust- and splash-resistant design, and a fluorine coating on the front element that minimizes contamination from dust, water, oil and other contaminants.

Excellent image sharpness at all ranges
Four aspherical elements minimize distortion, while ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberrations. A circular aperture and carefully controlled aberration shape add expressiveness with beautiful, smooth background bokeh and natural highlights that complement outstanding sharpness and clarity of focused areas.

One Lens Solution for Versatile Use
Despite excellent optical performance and a high zoom ratio, the weight is only 23.4 ounces (663 grams). The compact, lightweight design also fits E-mount lenses for outstanding system mobility and ease of use. Capture a wide variety of subjects and situations in the frame with this one powerful Lens.

Constant F4 aperture and fast AF for photos and videos
Thanks to a constant F4 aperture throughout the zoom range, brightness is assured even when the focal length changes. The Direct Drive SSM AF drive system enables fast, precise, quiet focusing. All these features make the FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS an excellent choice for both still and video shooting.

Professional reliability and operability
A fluorine coating on the front lens element prevents contaminants such as oils, dirt and water from adhering to the lens. A dust- and moisture-resistant design1 and a customizable focus hold button further contribute to professional reliability and operability.

Super Reiseobjektiv
Das Sony 24-105mm mit einer durchgehenden Blende von 4 ist ein super Allrounder, perfekt für das Reisen gemacht. Von 24mm leichtes Weitwinkel bis hin zum leichten Tele, macht sich super in Städten ohne Ständig das Objektiv zu wechseln. Es gibt zwei Dinge die mir nicht ganz so gefallen wie das diese Objektiv Rauszoomt und nicht innenliegend zoomt und es etwas groß und schwer ist. Aber nur deshalb kommt dieser Preis Zustande. Im groben und ganzen Solides Objektiv.

Der Allrounder von Foto bis Video
Seit ca. 3 Jahren nutze ich dieses Objektiv. Anfangs war ich skeptisch wegen der Festbrennweite von f4, aber mit der a7 null problemo! Tolle Farben und Super Schärfe. Die Stabilität OSS ist spitze. Durch die 9 Lamellen gibt's bei Abendaufnahmen tolle Lichtstreuungen. Seither habe ich vergessen, das ich noch andere Objekte habe :-)
