Cinema-ready 7K full-frame shooting
Canon's full-frame CMOS sensor enables stunning 7K shooting, dual base ISO (800 / 6,400) and a dynamic range of more than 15 stops of exposure.
The camera also shoots 32 MP photos at up to 40 fps and ISO up to 64,000 and 4K oversampling video in rich, natural colors.

Open Gate for maximum flexibility
With Open Gate 12-bit RAW with 6,960 x 4,640 pixels in 3:2, all visions can be realized.
Breathtaking details can be captured in widescreen, portrait or anamorphic format. Switching between full-frame, super 35 mm and super 16 mm modes is very easy.

The camera features ultra-responsive Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with enhanced face, eye and animal detection and tracking over 100% of the sensor area.

Take full advantage of the RF bayonet's capabilities
The speed, performance and versatility of the RF bayonet are available with fixed focal length, zoom, hybrid and cinema lenses.
The RF bayonet is characterized by lenses with first-class optics and enables real-time metadata transfer and fast AF/IS. With a Canon bayonet adapter, PL or EF Lens can also be used.

High frame rates for more variety
The camera offers various recording options:
Scalable 12-bit Cinema RAW Light up to 7K 60p, 4K 120p and 2K 180p as well as 4K oversampling 10-bit XF-AVC (MXF) and XF-AVC S or XFHEVC S (MP4).
Card slots for CFexpress Type B and UHS-II SD cards enable proxy and multi-format recording for fast, flexible workflows.

Seamless connectivity
Full HDMI, timecode, microphone and headphone connections. 2x XLR are located on a detachable handle. Built-in Wi-Fi and USB-C enable real-time IP streaming, UVC/UAC output and remote control.

The RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM is a professional L-series lens and, together with the RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z, is part of Canon's new hybrid lens range optimized for both stills and video.

Canon RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM
This hybrid lens offers the flexibility needed to reach new levels of creativity with mixed media. Part of an ever-expanding product range, this Lens is also the first RF fixed focal length with a dedicated aperture ring for video¹. It has an 11-blade iris diaphragm that allows the main subject to be emphasized by an attractive blur. The minimized focus breathing prevents the image section from changing when the focus point is shifted during video recordings.

The focal length of 35mm offers an optimal perspective for moments when a wide angle is required.
The particularly high speed of 1:1.4 allows the depth of field to be perfectly controlled. This means that first-class creative work is possible even in low-light moments such as the golden hour or even at a night skyline or a dimly lit event. Furthermore, as a fixed focal length, the RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM offers the option of using filters at both the front and rear, which opens up additional creative scope.

The Nano USM in combination with the even faster VCM technology (Voice Coil Motor)² ensures fast and precise focusing.
This enables a spontaneous reaction to a dynamically unfolding scene. In addition, the lens offers a special lens control ring and a configurable function button that enable individual operation.

Those who need to take pictures in harsh conditions can rely on the proven body design of the Canon L series.
The fluorine coating on the front lens ensures that dirt and sand do not stick to it so easily. The Lens is lighter than the corresponding EF predecessor model and allows comfortable handling even over longer periods of time. Thanks to the aspherical and UD lenses with Super Spectra and ASC coatings, the lens delivers crystal-clear images without flare or ghosting - even in glaring sunlight.

The 35mm focal length offers a pleasant perspective. A separate aperture ring allows smooth manual aperture control when shooting video1, while the 11-blade iris diaphragm offers outstanding depth-of-field control with minimized focus breathing for incredible image quality.

¹ If the aperture ring is operated when AF is activated during video recording, the focus and aperture settings may change in rare cases if an EOS R system camera released before May 2024 is used.

The voice coil motor of the RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM generates a weak magnetic field. It is generally safe to use. However, we advise you to consult a doctor if you require a pacemaker or other medical device to obtain individual information on any risks. When the Lens is not attached to a camera or when the camera is switched off, the components inside the Lens may make noise. This is quite normal and not a malfunction. Such minimal movement during transportation will not affect performance.
