The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 is the ideal tool for all beginners and newcomers to full-frame photography. The compact and robust body makes the camera the ideal companion on all photo tours. Thanks to the built-in 5-axis image stabilizer, all shots are protected against camera shake, regardless of which Lens is used. In combination with a compatible stabilized Lens, even Dual IS is possible. The camera is ideally equipped for both photo and video. The photo resolution is 24 megapixels and can be expanded to 96 megapixels with the High Resolution Shot. Videos are possible in 4K.

The LUMIX S5 combines photo and video to perfection. Together with the new autofocus, the robust magnesium housing and not least its compactness, this makes it the ideal companion for photographers and videographers who don't want to compromise. The 24 MP full-frame sensor ensures a wide dynamic range and very low-noise image quality thanks to Dual Native ISO technology. Even higher resolutions are possible with the High Resolution mode, which creates detailed images with 96 MP in RAW or JPG. Another highlight is the internal 5-axis image stabilization, which, in conjunction with Lens Stabilization, enables an exposure time up to 6.5 f-stops longer without blurring.
The improved autofocus uses deep learning technology to detect eyes, head and body for significantly faster and more precise focusing in photo and film recordings. Professional video recordings can be realized with max. 4K 60p 4:2:2 10 bit with 14+ f-stops dynamic range in Vlog, HDR, slow motion + fast motion as well as various audio solutions. Finally, the L-mount bayonet and the alliance with Leica and Sigma guarantee future-proofing and fast lens expansion.

24 megapixel sensor with Dual-Native-ISO technology
The heart of the LUMIX S5 is the 24.2 megapixel full-frame sensor with a wide dynamic range and very low-noise image quality even at high ISO values. Dual Native ISO technology is used for this, which optimizes the image quality in both photo and video mode and minimizes the usual image noise in low light conditions. The light sensitivity of the sensor ranges from ISO 100 to ISO 51,200, ensuring a wide range of applications in a wide variety of lighting conditions.

More than photography
Whether you prefer to work with the high-resolution 3-inch touch display or use the large OLED viewfinder with 2.36 million pixels, you can rely on top-quality images. The eye relief of approx. 20 mm also allows spectacle wearers an improved view of the viewfinder. The time-lapse and stop-motion functions offer you that little bit of extra creativity, while photos can now be saved directly as JPEGs in the improved high-resolution mode.

Professional video functions
The LUMIX S5 is also a very powerful video camera. Internally, it can record up to 4K 60p 4:2:0 (10-bit) and 4K 30p 4:2:2 (10-bit). Even up to 4K 60p 4:2:2 (10-bit) is possible via the HDMI output. Thanks to the particularly effective heat dissipation design of the LUMIX S5, the recording time is unlimited up to 4K 30p 4:2:0 (8-bit). This gives you even more flexibility when shooting and allows you to give free rein to your creativity.

Even more creative freedom
The LUMIX S5 offers you a wide range of creative functions that give you even more creative freedom and help you to present your shots in a completely new way. V-Log and V-Gamut are already pre-installed. With a dynamic range of over 14 f-stops and a wide colour spectrum, the performance is comparable to that of high-end production cameras.

High-speed precision autofocus
The significantly improved DFD high-speed autofocus uses real-time deep learning technology to optimally detect the eyes, head and body of people and animals. This ensures significantly faster and more precise focusing for photo and film recordings.
DFD AF communicates between the sensor and Lens at up to 480 fps and enables a focus time of approx. 0.08 seconds*. In addition, the low-light AF allows focusing even in very low light down to -6 EV** and thus extends the camera's range of applications.

Double image stabilization
Image stabilization is a prerequisite for all creative people who are often on the move. It enables sharp and blur-free shots even without a tripod. The 5-axis Dual I.S. system combines sensor and lens stabilization, allowing you to benefit from up to 6.5 f-stops with the LUMIX S5.

Compact and robust camera body
Weighing just 714g, the LUMIX S5 is around 30% lighter than the LUMIX S1 and smaller than the LUMIX GH5, without compromising on image quality. It is characterized by a first-class design and high-quality workmanship: The camera has a magnesium alloy frame and a splash and dust-proof body.* Ideal for use in difficult weather conditions!
*Dust and splash protection ensures that the camera is protected against the ingress of even the smallest amounts of moisture, water or dust. The splash protection does not guarantee protection if the camera comes into direct contact with water.

Wide range of lenses
Look forward to completely new possibilities: An L bayonet mount not only allows the use of new LUMIX S lenses, but also opens up the further range of Lens from "L-Mount Alliance" partners Leica and Sigma.
