The Lens is a compact and affordable standard zoom that scores points above all with its ultra wide angle and very good properties for video and close-up shots.
The focal length of 20-60 mm is somewhat unusual compared to the classic 28-70 mm of competitors. But the larger wide angle in combination with the 3x zoom factor is much more universally applicable.
We will also be using the new lens as a kit in the S1, so that at an RRP of €2,599 we can offer a more affordable kit than before!!!

New ultra wide-angle zoom lens for the full-frame system cameras of the LUMIX S series
A compact wide-angle zoom expands the range of lenses for the LUMIX S cameras and the L-mount alliance. Designed for professional use, the LUMIX S system of high-quality full-frame cameras and Lens focuses on uncompromising photographic quality.

The LUMIX S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 is a robust, lightweight standard zoom lens with a focal length of 20mm ultra-wide-angle to 60mm for versatile use - from dynamic landscape shots to portraits. The wide angle of view also facilitates indoor shooting and the impressive close-up limit of 0.15 m (maximum magnification 0.43x) extends its use in product photography. The new LUMIX S Zoom also ensures high-quality video recording by minimizing focus breathing in the best possible way.

Thanks to its compact design and low weight of around 350 g, it does not compromise the photographer's mobility. It is characterized by a dust- and splash-resistant design* and can be used in the most adverse conditions down to -10°C. In addition, a fluorine coating on the front element repels water and oil. The filter diameter is 67 mm and the lens has nine blades for a virtually circular aperture.

The lens consists of 11 elements in 9 groups and uses 2 aspherical lenses and 3 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses to suppress both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic magnification difference.

astigmatism can be additionally corrected with these aspherical lenses, resulting in high resolution performance. Furthermore, the UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens enables uniform image quality from the center to the edges of the image and ensures a compact design.
Panasonic and the L-Mount System Alliance are committed to the development of L-Mount lenses to further expand the range and meet the needs of customers.

Der Allrounder - nicht nur für den Einstieg
Dieses Objektiv ist eines der besten Kit-Objektive und Einstiegsobjektive, die ich bisher hatte. Ein relativ großer Weitwinkel und doch auch noch einen recht ordentlichen Zoombereich machen es beinahe einzigartig in seinem Bereich. Die variable Blende ist dabei in meinen Augen zu verschmerzen. Die Schärfe ist sehr gut und auch Bildfehler sind kaum zu finden. Sehr hervorzuheben ist meiner Meinung nach der Abbildungsmaßstab, der beinahe an Macro heranreicht und eine ordentliche Vergrößerung/Abbildung schafft. Als einzigen Kritikpunkt könnte man den fehlenden Bildstabilisator sehen.
