The Lenses delivers an exceptionally detailed reproduction that surpasses that of the previous generations of the 35mm F1.4 Art series. By using new glass materials that were previously difficult to process, as well as four high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD glass elements, the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art excellently suppresses aberrations. In particular, axial chromatic aberrations, which often occur in Lenses with large apertures. The strict standards of the Sigma Art series ensure excellent resolution over the entire image area, even at maximum aperture.

Intense and beautiful bokeh without color fringing
The thorough correction of axial chromatic aberration not only suppresses color fringing in the focal plane, but also in the out-of-focus areas. The Lenses thus produces a wonderfully natural bokeh. The aperture of the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art has 11 rounded aperture blades, which retain their rounded shape even when stopped down from the maximum aperture. *TSC(Thermally-Stable-Composite) is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum. It has a high affinity to metal parts, which contributes to high-quality product manufacture.

Practical functions and equipment details
The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG II | Art offers two well-positioned AFL buttons, which can be assigned individual functions via the camera menu on compatible cameras. The lens also has the characteristic aperture ring for direct adjustment of the aperture on the Lenses including "click and de-click function" and lock switch* .
*If the lock switch is pressed while the aperture ring is set to A, the aperture ring is fixed to A. If the lock switch is pressed while the aperture ring is at an aperture setting other than A, the aperture ring can be rotated back and forth between the maximum and minimum aperture.
