Extreme correction of chromatic aberration and sagittal coma
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art offers even better optical performance than its predecessor. It delivers brilliant sharpness across the entire image area even when the aperture is fully open. By using an SLD glass, a high refractive glass with high anomalous dispersion, and four double-sided aspherical glass elements, axial chromatic aberrations and sagittal coma flares are thoroughly corrected, while the size of the lens is significantly reduced.

When developing the 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art, Sigma paid particular attention to correcting various optical aberrations that can affect image quality. Thanks to this meticulousness, the Lens delivers brilliant sharpness at the focal plane, resulting in beautiful bokeh without color fringing or double contours. Photographers will appreciate the rich, expressive rendering performance and the interplay between the in-focus and out-of-focus areas, especially when shooting with the F1.2 aperture fully open.

Thanks to the optimized arrangement of the focus group and the aspherical shape, the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art has succeeded in effectively suppressing focus-breathing. This means that the angle of view remains virtually unchanged when focusing. This ensures natural-looking focus shifts when shooting video, making the lens an ideal choice for professional video.

Low susceptibility to flares and ghosting
Flares and ghosting have been largely eliminated thanks to state-of-the-art simulation technology of all light incidence situations during the development phase of the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art. As a result, the Lens delivers clear and sharp results under all conditions.

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art offers even better optical performance than its predecessor model and is around 30 % lighter and 20 % shorter. A decisive factor in this is the use of a floating focus design. Here, the lens groups are moved independently of each other, reducing the weight of each lens group while improving optical performance. In addition, the improved optical design incorporates four aspherical lens elements, high refractive index glass and thinner lens elements, which also contributes to the exceptional performance and compact body.

Dual HLA drive for fast, quiet and precise autofocus
The dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) drive of the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art drives each of the two focus groups with its own linear motor. In addition, the use of multiple magnets in each motor enables a compact design of the focus unit without compromising the high thrust. Compared to conventional cam-controlled systems, the dual HLA system is not only significantly lighter, but also guarantees fast, reliable and quiet autofocus.

A durable, reliable tool for photographic expression
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art is also manufactured and assembled exclusively at Sigma's factory in Aizu, Japan, using high-precision parts made of aluminum, TSC* and other materials. It is a highly sophisticated and durable photographic tool designed according to the specifications of Sigma's Art product line.
*TSC (Thermally-Stable-Composite) is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of
aluminum. It has a high affinity to metal parts, which contributes to high-quality product manufacture.

Numerous functions to support photography
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art offers an AFL button that can be assigned individual functions via the camera menu on compatible cameras. The lens also has an aperture ring for setting the aperture directly on the lens. Thanks to the "de-click function", this feature is also interesting for filmmakers, as the aperture can be adjusted silently and steplessly. Those who prefer to set the aperture on the camera body can simply use the lock function of the aperture ring and are protected against accidental adjustment.

Dust protection, splashwater protection* and water and oil repellent coating
In addition to the dust and splash water protected body*, the front lens of the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art has a water and oil repellent coating. This means that you can take pictures without worrying even in difficult shooting conditions.

come into complete contact with water. Water inside a lens can cause major damage and even make it

Tulip-shaped lens hood with locking mechanism
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art comes with a specially adapted, tulip-shaped lens hood that protects against stray light and thus reduces unwanted reflections. The lens hood is equipped with a locking button that ensures secure attachment and removal.
