The all-round H and Y filter solution for round drains

The all-round H&Y filter solution for smooth processes

H&Y is part of every shoot in our team, because the filter solution with revoring not only offers a powerful ND filter solution, but also a great deal of flexibility. Anyone who works a lot with different Lens and filters knows that constantly changing filters and thread sizes is annoying and can quickly add up.

Disadvantages of adapter rings

Let's start with the disadvantages of the adapter rings:

  • Depending on the MM number to be bridged, the angle of view that can be used is affected
  • Difficult to use for wide angles with strong fisheye curvature
  • Rings tend to get stuck.
  • Cannot be used on damaged lens threads

Advantages of Revorings

What are the advantages of a Revoring or a Revoring Swift?

H&Y Revoring

  • High glass quality
  • Always the same flange focal distance
  • Combination filter available

H&Y Revoring Swift

  • Various colors available
  • Own filters can be used
  • Fewer different filters required

For videographers, the different colors can be a decisive aspect. If you have already assembled the filters in advance and may need different filter combinations quickly on set, you can simply call out the right filter from the bag or gear table.

H&Y REVORING 67-82mm filter adapter

  • suitable for 82mm filters
  • robust step ring adapter
  • suitable for several Lens with different diameters
H&Y Revoring Filter - The function and design

How the Revoring Swift works

The 8 built-in blades of the Revoring extend when the ring is turned and provide a good grip with the filter thread on the edge of the blades, this is supported by the springs, which pull the blade ring outwards and thus prevent it from loosening from the thread of the Lens.

The magnetic version also supports the attachment of a matte box or a silicone lens hood. Another interesting feature for landscape photographers is the inclusion of a filter holder for rectangular filters with a diameter of 100mm.

The system is divided into three levels, the first being the base, which is then extended with the bridge, which is either the final level or can be extended with the accessories, which include the matte box, the lens hood and the rectangular filter kit. H&Y even offers a solution for wide-angle lenses with a strong glass curvature in order to make different filters usable there.

Which sizes are bridged by H+&Y

The revorings are available in five different sizes, which are broken down as follows:

  • 37-49mm
  • 46-62mm
  • 58-77mm
  • 67-82mm
  • 82-95mm

Conclusion

We had already said it, whether privately or for productions at Foto Koch and think that the filters are a very interesting product and that the color variants are also justified for the photo backpack! At the latest as a distinction from your photo colleagues, when you're still chatting about the same filters in the pub in the evening ;) H&Y offers the highest glass quality and sophisticated solutions that can inspire photographers and videographers alike. The price is of course off-putting at first, but the ND3-1000 with polarizing filter in particular saves money and does not make any X formation in the photo or video.
