Fast, quiet autofocus of the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM

The areas of use of the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM are mainly in wildlife and sports photography. Since the subjects move quickly and mostly unpredictably, you need an autofocus that can meet these requirements. This is where the Canon RF 100-500mm Lens excels with its Dual Nano USM motors, which make the autofocus not only extremely fast and precise, but also virtually silent.

Excellent sharpness performance

The Canon RF 100-500mm is equipped with a Super UD lens, six UD lenses and a 5-stop image stabilizer. This minimizes blur and results in crisp, high-contrast images all the way to the edges, no matter the focal length. Aperture reflections and flare are largely minimized thanks to ASC coating.

With 9 built-in aperture blades, the Canon RF 100-500mm produces smooth and even bokeh throughout. The aperture can also be adjusted via the aperture ring.

Ergonomics & Weight

With the tripod clamp attached, the Canon RF 100-500mm weighs a good 1.5kg, which is not particulary light, but is quite average in the super-telephoto range. The length is just under 21cm when retracted. So it will be easy to transport in your backpack without any problems!

In addition to dust and splash protection, the Canon RF 100-500mm features a heat-repellent coating, which contributes to the longevity of the Lens. The Lens is compatible with Canon RF extenders (1.4x and 2x), allowing it to create extreme reach. In addition to the usual zoom ring, focus ring, and aperture ring, the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM also features a "smooth-tight" ring that determines how smoothly or slowly you can zoom.

Ein echtes Spitzenklasse-Objektiv
Als ich das Objektiv beim Kauf in der Stadt ausprobierte, konnte ich es nicht glauben, dass man durch den zusätzlichen Stabilisator im Objektiv, trotz des recht hohen Gesamtgewichts, noch Fotos bei 500 mm bis zu 1/30 frei aus der Hand machen kann. Mit diesem Objektiv ist es überhaupt kein Problem, den Mond gestochen scharf aus der Hand abzulichten. Die ART der Freistellung von Motive ist für mich nicht mehr zu überbieten. Seht dazu die beiden Beispielbilder. Von mir gibt daher trotz des hohen Preises, eine dicke Kaufempfehlung.

Kompakt und superscharf bei allen Brennweiten, selbst mit RF 1.4x Teleconverter noch sehr gut bei 700 mm.
