The Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is a versatile and powerful zoom Lens aimed at both amateur and professional photographers. With a focal length range of 28-70mm and a constant aperture of f/2.8 across the entire zoom range, this Lens offers excellent image quality and flexibility that is ideal for a wide range of photographic situations. Whether portraits, landscapes or reportage shots - the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM covers the most important requirements of photography in a single Lens.

Focal length range and versatility

The focal length range of 28-70mm makes the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM an extremely flexible companion for a wide variety of shooting situations. In the wide-angle range at 28mm, the Lens is ideal for landscape or architectural shots where a wide field of view is required. The medium focal length range at around 50mm almost corresponds to the human field of view, making the Lens an excellent choice for portrait and street photography. At the telephoto end at 70mm, the lens is ideal for detail shots and brings subjects closer without sacrificing the convenience of a zoom lens.

Fast aperture of f/2.8

The constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 offers photographers numerous advantages. Particularly in difficult lighting situations, such as at dusk or indoors, the high aperture makes it possible to take photos without a flash and still obtain clear and detailed images. This large aperture also ensures a beautiful background blur (bokeh), which is particularly important in portrait photography. This allows subjects to be excellently isolated from the background and placed in the right light. The Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is therefore perfect for shots with a narrow focus range.

Image stabilizer and STM technology

A special feature of the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is the built-in optical image stabilizer (IS). This helps to compensate for camera shake and ensures sharp images, even when shooting hand-held with longer exposure times. The image stabilizer is particularly useful in low light conditions and when using the telephoto range, where any movement can lead to blurring.

In addition, the Lens is equipped with an STM (Stepping Motor), which offers quiet and precise autofocus. This is particularly advantageous when filming, as disturbing noises from the focus drive are minimized. The STM ensures that the focus is tracked smoothly and evenly, which is crucial for professional video recordings.

Optical quality and workmanship

Canon has placed great emphasis on excellent optical performance with the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM. Leichter Allrounder
Habe das Objektiv vor einiger Zeit im Bundle mit der R6mkii gekauft und bin nach den ersten Monaten zufrieden. Der AF ist schnell, das Bokeh bei f2,8 durchaus ansehnlich und vor allem ist das Objektiv handlich und leicht. Im Bundle mit einer Kamera kann man hier durchaus zugreifen. Ob ich es auch einzeln kaufen würde? Da bin ich mir nicht sicher, da würde ich vielleicht doch in ein L-Objektiv investieren.
