With a focal length of 24 mm, you can capture even large subjects with ease! The impressive image angle of 83.7° on full format and 60.9° on APS-C gives you plenty of freedom in image composition. Thanks to its special functions, high speed, uniform imaging performance and outstanding resolution right to the edge of the image, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 is ideally suited for astrophotography and landscape photography. It was specially developed for mirrorless Sony Alpha E-mount cameras. The high speed of 1:1.8 allows a lot of light to reach the sensor, so that even in dark shooting situations you can work without flash and freehand. Thanks to the particularly high light intensity, this Lens is also suitable for taking pictures indoors.

Programmable custom switch, LED indicator for focus at infinity and another revolutionary special function for astrophotography
The programmable custom switch can be assigned an astro mode. This switch allows you to choose between two settings. Manual focus can be assigned to the astro mode. As a novelty of this Lens, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 can also be automatically focused to infinity by pressing the Focus Hold button. An LED indicator on the side of the Lens gives a green light as soon as focusing has been successful. The factory pre-calibrated focus setting to infinity can be recalibrated by the user, the factory setting is then overwritten. This function is particularly useful for astrophotography, as it is difficult to focus automatically in the dark.

Extensive range of functions thanks to the focus hold button
The focus hold button on the side of the Lens can be assigned various functions in addition to astro mode and the custom switch. For example, with eye detection autofocus, a program that continuously focuses and focuses on the eyes of people or animals in the picture. As soon as the Focus Hold button is held down, the camera searches for eyes in the subject and the Lens focuses on them precisely. This allows you to work efficiently without having to take the camera away from the eye. The focus hold button is assigned AF lock as standard: If the button is held down, the currently selected focus is maintained.

Small, light and compact
With a low weight of just 230 g, a length of only 71.5 mm and a diameter of just 65 mm, the Samyang AF 24 mm F1.8 is extremely compact and the ideal companion on any stargazing trip. The compact dimensions make the lens up to 24% shorter and up to 48% lighter than many comparable lenses of this focal length. With the Samyang AF 24mm F1.8 you are equipped for a variety of photographic challenges in everyday life as well as when traveling. The lens hood is removable and filters with a 58 mm thread can be attached.

Fast and quiet autofocus
The autofocus in this Lens is driven by a linear stepping motor (LSTM), which works quickly, quietly and precisely. The LSTM focusing system focuses very quickly during photo and video recordings and offers continuous focusing, especially during video recordings, without disturbing the video recordings with noise from the focus drive.

Highest optical quality
The high-quality optical construction of 11 lenses in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses (ASP), 3 high refractive lenses (HR) and 2 lenses made of particularly low-dispersion glass (ED), guarantees crystal-clear, high-resolution images from the center to the edge, even at an open aperture of F1.8. All glass lenses are coated with Samyang's own Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). Thanks to the 9 rounded aperture blades, you get beautiful round highlights in the bokeh as well as 18-ray sun stars with light sources in focus. The close focusing distance is only 19 cm, which is significantly less than many comparable Lens from other manufacturers. A short close-up focusing distance makes it possible to take pictures even in tight situations. The particularly fast aperture of F1.8 gives you up to two stops more light than comparable Lens.

Weather protection for all elements
The integrated Samyang Weather Sealing allows you to capture great images even in adverse conditions. The rubber lips in the Lens and on the bayonet effectively prevent dust and splash water from entering, so you can work in snowfall, light rain or dusty environments without any problems.

Tolle Performance
Das Samyang 24mm 1.8 verwende ich an einer Sony A7 M3. Diese habe ich mittlerweile durch eine M4 ersetzt.
Ich habe den 24er Look für die People Fotografie entdeckt. Das Objektiv ist in der Mitte schon bei Offenblende knackscharf. Auch an den Rändern ist die Schärfe für Portraits sehr ausgewogen. Bei Landschaftsaufnahmen blende ich sowieso (Blende 8) ab. Blende 2.8 würde dabei bereits ausreichen. Die Naheinstellgrenze von 20 cm ermöglicht coole Fotos in allen Aufnahmebereichen. Bei Home Shootings in beengten Wohnverhältnissen spielt das Objektiv seine Stärken super aus. 24 ist das neue 35 für Portraits. Eine neue Innovation ist die Unendlich Einstellung der Kamera per Tastenbelegung. Das werde ich in künftigen Sternschnuppen Nächten zu schätzen wissen.
Das geringe Gewicht geht nicht zu Lasten der Verarbeitung. Es macht haptisch einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Durch die tolle Performance und das sehr gute Preis- Leistungsverhältnis gehört es in das Objektiv Portfolio eines jeden Sony Nutzers.

Nahezu perfektes 24er
Ich habe mir dieses Samyang 24/1.8 für meine Sony A7 III gekauft .
Schon bei Offenblende bildet dieses 24er in der Bildmitte sehr scharf ab . Die Bildränder sind nur minimal unschärfer ( sieht man fast nur in der 100% Ansicht ) . Abblenden auf 2.8 - 3.2 ergiebt schon eine perfekte Schärfe bis in die Ecken. Weiteres Abblenden bringt kaum noch etwas ! Vignettierung ist auch kaum vorhanden .
Ich importiere mit Vorgabe 1/3 Blende+ für Vignette. Verzeichnungen sind auch fast nicht vorhanden. Farbgebung gefällt mir auch sehr gut .
Der kleine Schalter ab Objektiv ist in Stellung-1 Focus ; in Stellung-2 kann man am Focusring die Blende verstellen . Mit dem kleinen runden Druckschalter kann man den AF festhalten ( z.B. beim verschwenken ) . An der Verarbeitung giebt es zu dem Preis nichts auszusetzen . Ich bin froh, mich für das Samyang entschieden zu haben und kann es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen .
