Eye-detection AF revolutionizes portraits -
With the α7 III, eye-detection AF can now be used in AF-C mode to achieve effective eye detection or tracking performance when shooting: Even when the face is partially in darkness, even when the subject is looking down, and even when backlit.

The α7 III features a touch focus function and a touch pad function. This allows you to intuitively move the focus area with a finger movement when using the viewfinder.

Use autofocus for photos while the focus area is magnified in the viewfinder or on the monitor, and magnify the view after autofocusing.

AF fields/points can be changed when you switch between horizontal and vertical orientation. You can assign focus point settings to custom buttons.

85mm F1.4 is basically synonymous with a portrait lens. With the Art product line, SIGMA is committed to the highest possible optical performance. To achieve this, SIGMA harnesses the latest optical design technologies as well as the production technologies of the Aizu plant, SIGMA's sole manufacturing base, to develop these Lenses. The result is an absolutely detailed image that is essential for portrait photography and will satisfy amateurs and professionals alike.

The 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is equipped with the latest high refractive index glass, which, in addition to a whopping five SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and an aspherical lens, ensures complete correction of aberrations that cannot be eliminated by the camera's correction function. The AF system uses a stepper motor optimized for both phase AF and contrast AF. Not only does this smoothly achieve shooting via face/eye detection AF, it also makes the lens body narrower because a focusing lens that matches a stepper motor can be made smaller.
