Videos and photos in JPEG format are then saved directly with the adjustments made, while RAW images can still be modified later in the Imaging Edge app.
  • New trendy film looks: In addition to the familiar styles such as portrait, vivid, black and white and sepia, we find the new styles that mimic analog looks particularly interesting. With impressive image quality in 33 megapixel resolution, video recording in 4K 60p, precise handling and fast sharing functions, the Sony Alpha 7 IV sets new standards for full-frame cameras as the perfect hybrid camera. Creative and professional photographers will always have Sony's best technology at hand to bring their ideas to life with the α 7M IV and its premium real-time autofocus for still and video shooting.

Unparalleledimage quality
The rear-exposed 33-megapixel Exmor R full-frame sensor with high-speed readout, high sensitivity, and highly accurate color reproduction, combined with the high processing power of the new Bionz XR image processor, ensures outstanding image quality. Thanks to high ISO sensitivity (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for photos and 100-102400 for videos) even in low light.

In addition to the two classic RAW and JPEG formats, the HEIF format (High Efficiency Image File) is also available for photos. Thanks to this format's inherent 4:2:2 color sampling and 10-bit color depth, even the finest gradations are reproduced naturally and realistically.

The 7 IV has two media slots that support UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC and SDHC cards. In addition, one of the slots is compatible with CFexpress Type A memory cards. This means that high read and write speeds are also possible without any problems.

Improved selection and editing

The Sony 7 IV offers ten unique in-camera presets for photos, videos, and livestreams. So you can create your own individual picture looks already in the camera and share your images with the world quickly and easily without any complex post-processing.

Autofocus rethought
Faster, more accurate and more precise: the advanced hybrid autofocus recognizes subjects (human, animal and bird) thanks to the latest real-time tracking technology and reliably keeps them in focus. Even with fast and unpredictable movements. Via touch, real-time tracking can be easily applied to any subject in the frame and activated in addition to eye autofocus when detecting eyes.

Focus functions already familiar from the Sony Alpha 1 and α 7S III, such as focus switching or a user-defined subject tracking sensitivity, offer new, creative possibilities in video composition.

Shake-free images

The built-in 5-axis optical image stabilization (IBIS) ensures shake-free images. When shooting handheld video, the Active mode provides reliable support and compensates for camera shake. But shake can also be eliminated afterwards thanks to the recording of gyro and lens data.

With the Alpha 7 IV, stream live content at up to 15p in 4K or 60p in Full HD. Even without a memory card. Thanks to the latest Generation 3.2 USB-C connectivity, no additional software is required. Question: How can I control the camera remotely using the Imaging Edge Mobile app?
Answer: The procedure may vary depending on the model, but in general you can follow these steps:

  1. Download the Imaging Edge Mobile app to your smartphone.
  2. After installing the app, visit the Imaging Edge Mobile website.
  3. Search for your camera model using the category selector at the top or scroll down to view all models.
  4. Select your camera model and refer to the Operating the camera via smartphone/tablet (remote control) section:
    - Select [Connect] for instructions on how to connect the camera and smartphone (e.g. QR code connection, Wi-Fi connection via NFC).
    - Select [Operate camera remotely] for instructions on how to change various camera settings via your smartphone (e.g. zoom, camera remote ON/OFF, mirror mode).
  5. Follow the steps given.

Question: What is Remote Camera Control and where is it available?
Answer: The Remote Camera Control application allows you to operate a camera from your computer via a USB connection. Using the Remote Camera Control installed on your computer, you can change the recording settings and take pictures. The recorded image data is saved directly to the computer.

Question: Why is the image sensor tilted when the camera is turned off?
Answer: When the camera is turned off, the image sensor automatically moves to a position that exerts the least load on it. Unlike previous models, the image sensor tilts horizontally when the camera is turned off to help dissipate heat and protect the life of the image sensors.

Question: What is the difference between Reset Default and Factory Reset?
Answer: There are three options to reset settings on the Sony A7 IV, which we explain in more detail below:

  • Reset Default / Camera Settings Reset
    This function only resets the camera's shooting settings to the default settings.
  • Initialize
    In addition, this function resets all settings that the Reset Default function resets, as well as all other functions, such as Date/Time Setup and Wi-Fi Settings. Initializing also deletes information stored in the camera, such as saved faces, saved AF micro settings, file numbers and downloaded applications.
  • Factory Reset
    Like the Initialize function, resets all settings as well as the settings for the AF micro adjustment.

NOTES: Do not switch off the camera while it is being reset. The camera may display a black screen for approx. 10 seconds after a reset. This is standard procedure and is not a malfunction of the camera.

Question: Can the camera be connected to a TV to play back images?
Answer: Depending on the characteristics of the two devices, there are various ways to play back images from the camera using a TV. Information about supported functions can be found in your manual.

  • If the TV has a USB port that supports mass storage devices, you can connect the camera to the TV using the USB cable supplied and play back the images. The TV's media player is used for this.
  • If the TV has an HDMI input, you can also connect the camera with an HDMI cable (available separately) to play back the images. The camera is then used as a media player.
  • If the camera and the TV set support Bravia Sync (or another CEC connection), you can navigate through the images using the TV remote control. Options and operation depend on the type of connection.

IMPORTANT: If you connect the camera with an HDMI cable, you must set the TV to the correct HDMI input to receive the signal from the camera. For more information, please refer to the TV operating instructions.

Perfekte Kamera
Ich hatte die Sony 7 iv bereits in Erwartung der 7 v verkauft, obwohl sie eigentlich nach vielen Jahren probieren mit anderen Vollformartkameras (auch Sony 9 ii etc.) die Beste war. Ich bereute nach wenigen Wochen die Entscheidung und kaufte sie erneut bei Foto Koch, zu einem unschlagbaren Preis und bei wie gewohnt bestem Service. Danke Foto Koch, die Kamera ist einfach ein Top Allrounder!

Klein, schnell, perfekt!
Die Sony Alpha 7 IV hat mich komplett überzeugt! Die Bedienung ist erstaunlich einfach und intuitiv, sodass man auch ohne langes Einarbeiten sofort loslegen kann. Der Autofokus arbeitet extrem schnell und zuverlässig - egal ob Foto oder Video, die Schärfe sitzt einfach.

Trotz ihrer starken Leistung ist die Kamera angenehm leicht und kompakt, wodurch sie auch auf längeren Touren nie zur Last wird. Für mich ist sie ein echter Allrounder, der in nahezu jeder Situation glänzt. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Farbstimmung, die einfach grandios ist - Bilder wirken lebendig, natürlich und gleichzeitig sehr edel.

Kurz gesagt: Eine Kamera, die sowohl Einsteiger als auch Fortgeschrittene begeistern wird. Absolute Empfehlung!
