Special connectivity

More than almost any other camera, the Nikon D850 can transfer large amounts of data at high speeds. It has a USB 3.0 port, but can also be combined with the WT-7 wireless LAN adapter so that data can also be transferred wirelessly in seconds. With the help of the Snap Bridge app, the pictures and videos can be forwarded to a cell phone or tablet in a particularly power-saving way and posted or streamed directly to social media channels.

The D850's fast, ultra-high-resolution FX-format sensor delivers 45.7 megapixels of effective resolution for detailed 45.4 MP files. Print ultra-high-resolution images in extra-large formats. True full-frame movies in 4K. The back-illuminated CMOS image sensor eliminates an optical low-pass filter and features micro-lenses built into the chip and anti-reflective coating. Incident light hits the photodiodes more efficiently, so you benefit from exceptional detail and unparalleled dynamic range. And the 153-point AF system inherited from the D5 ensures the razor-sharp focus and coverage you need for full-frame, ultra-high-resolution shooting.

Stunning speed at 45.4 MP

Get award-worthy shots with this ultimate combination of speed, detail, and precision. Continuous shooting rate is up to 9 fps at full resolution using optional accessories. Phenomenal autofocus.

Capture decisive seconds with this unique combination of performance and endurance. The D850 shoots up to 7 fps. With the optional MB-D18 multi-function handgrip and EN-EL18 series battery installed (as in D4, D4s, D5), even 9 fps is possible. This applies to images in full resolution, also in RAW format (NEF). With the standard EN-EL15a battery, 1840 images are possible on a single charge (in single-frame shooting mode, according to CIPA standards). A special AF processor ensures phenomenal subject detection during fast shooting sessions: Even in difficult lighting conditions, you can track even fast-moving small subjects with remarkable precision. The 153-point autofocus system, including 99 cross-type sensors (as in the D5), operates with unparalleled precision and high light sensitivity down to -3 EV in all focus points. The center focus area even offers sensitivity down to -4 EV (ISO 100, 20 °C).

Unique response to light, nuance and expression

Reveal hidden details in even the darkest scenes and deepest shadows. With a resolution-class-leading ISO range of 64 to 25,600, expandable to 32 to 102,400 (equivalent).

Experience extremely low-noise image results at high ISOs and high exposure precision even when shooting at dusk. The fast EXPEED 5 image-processing engine inherited from the D5 ensures fantastic image quality throughout the wide ISO range. The antive ISO sensitivity of ISO 64, which starts the standard ISO range, allows phenomenal shooting quality without any limitation of the huge dynamic range offered by the camera. The low entry-level ISO also offers expanded capabilities in bright shooting environments through the usability of a wider aperture or when using flash in daylight. The 180,000-pixel RGB exposure metering sensor and advanced scene recognition system enable spectacular results with highly accurate exposure control down to -3 EV.

The MB-D18 also enables more stable handling of the camera when shooting in portrait format. An alternative shutter release and buttons for multi-function selector and AF start facilitate portrait format shooting. The function grip also has secondary front and rear dials.

Leider geil
Liegt in der Hand wie keine Andere und der optische Sucher ist nicht zu schlagen. Auch wenn die technischen Daten der neuen Spiegellosen besser erscheinen: Nimm die D850. Der Rest kann warten.

immer noch eine sehr gute Wahl...
Für mich persönlich auch 2024 noch die richtige fototechnische Verbesserung zur richtigen Zeit - die Kamera ermöglicht eine unfassbare Bildqualität, wenn man sie als Werkzeug beherrscht! Der Schritt in die Welt der Spiegellosen wird bei mir noch etwas warten müssen...
