With its outstanding photo and video performance and an amazingly compact and robust body, the LUMIX DC-S5M2 meets the high demands of creative photo and video enthusiasts while offering exceptional value for money.

The S5M2 is based on a newly developed full-frame CMOS sensor with 24 megapixels and an image processor that is also new and was developed as part of the L² technology partnership between LEICA and LUMIX. For the first time, the sensor in the LUMIX system supports phase detection AF in addition to contrast-based autofocus, combining both focusing methods into a new hybrid phase detection AF. In addition, the new processor offers outstanding image quality and high bit rate or 6K resolution video performance.

LUMIX S 35mm F1.8 - Fixed focal length with moderate wide angle for L-mount

One Lens, Many Shooting Possibilities
The LUMIX S 35mm f/1.8's slightly wide-angle character makes it suitable for a variety of subjects - making it the ideal lens for street photography, reportage or portraits with surroundings. With its compact size and light weight of approximately 295g, the LUMIX S 35mm F1.8 offers stunning portability for the LUMIX S5, LUMIX's smallest full-frame mirrorless model. Thanks to its robust, dust- and splash-proof1 design, the Lens can be used in temperatures as low as 10 degrees below zero, while offering great flexibility.

Identical Dimensions for Easy and Consistent Handling
The total of four f/1.8 fixed focal length lenses in the LUMIX S series, including 85mm, 50mm, 24mm, and the new 35mm Lens, all share a common size and position of controls to enable the same intuitive operation or easy adjustments for use of follow focus. Identical dimensions also allow the use of the same 67mm filters, matte boxes or underwater dome port with different focal lengths. Comparable weight distribution also eliminates lengthy adjustments when the camera is on a gimbal.

Sophisticated Lens Design for Best Image Quality
The LUMIX S 35mm f/1.8 Lens consists of eleven lens elements in nine groups, including three aspherical lenses and three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses. The use of three aspherical lenses and nine circular aperture blades enables both high imaging performance and an attractive bokeh effect with smooth sharpness-blur transitions. The ED lenses effectively suppress chromatic aberration. The Lens also ensures high-quality video recording by minimizing focus breathing as best as possible. The aperture can be adjusted in extremely small increments, making exposure changes nearly stepless - another feature for professional video recording. Finally, in the joint development of the F1.8 Lenses, emphasis was placed on a uniform image appearance as a further quality feature.

Particularly fine eye when focusing
The LUMIX S 35mm f/1.8 works quickly and silently with the camera's high-precision contrast AF system at a maximum of 240 fps. When using manual focus, a non-linear or linear setting can be selected for the focus ring. In the non-linear setting, the focus is shifted by a variable amount according to the rotation speed of the focus ring, e.g. to switch more quickly between focus areas. In the linear setting, on the other hand, the focus is always shifted linearly according to the angle of rotation of the focus ring. In the linear setting, the entire focus range can be traversed in 90 to 360 degrees (adjustable in 30 degree increments). Thanks to the minimum focus distance of 0.24 m, it can also be used for close-ups.
