The RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM is a professional L-series lens and, together with the RF 24-105mm F2.8 L IS USM Z, is part of Canon's new hybrid lens range optimized for both stills and video.

This hybrid lens offers the flexibility needed to reach new levels of creativity with mixed media. Part of an ever-expanding product range, this Lens is also the first RF fixed focal length with a dedicated aperture ring for video¹. It has an 11-blade iris diaphragm that allows the main subject to be emphasized by an attractive blur. The minimized focus breathing prevents the image section from changing when the focus point is shifted during video recordings.

The focal length of 35mm offers an optimal perspective for moments when a wide angle is required.
The particularly high speed of 1:1.4 allows the depth of field to be perfectly controlled. This means that first-class creative work is possible even in low-light moments such as the golden hour or even at a night skyline or a dimly lit event. Furthermore, as a fixed focal length, the RF 35mm F1.4 L VCM offers the option of using filters at both the front and rear, which opens up additional creative scope.
