As a wildlife filmmaker, I use the R5ii for filming and photographing nature + wildlife - and that's where it really shines!
I'm particularly impressed by the pre-recording of up to 5 seconds in video mode at 4K 100 fps and 2K 200 fps - this is unique among mirrorless system cameras and perfect for unpredictable action shots such as kingfishers on the hunt.
Its compact design allows it to be used effortlessly on a gimbal for shooting at up to 8K 60 fps in RAW.

It also impresses me across the board for photos: thanks to the stacked sensor, the EVF is completely blackout and judder-free, and with a continuous shooting speed of 30 frames per second at full 45 MP resolution, pre-capture function and subject detection autofocus, I really don't miss a thing.

My tip:
With the Canon fan grip or the Tilta fan cage and a cappy for shading, the pre-recording function for video can be used for even longer!

Die perfekte Kamera f?r Naturfilm und -Foto
Obwohl ich kein Fan von Vollformat bin und eigentlich wegen der zusätzlichen Reichweite APS-C präferiere, überzeugt mich die R5ii dennoch auf ganzer Linie:
Die R5ii ist für mich die perfekte Kamera für Naturaufnahmen, insbesondere für die Wildtierfotografie und zum -filmen sucht sie dank dem gestacktem Sensor ihres gleichen.

Als bisher einzige spiegellose Vollformatkamera bietet sie 5 Sekunden Pre-Recording für Video bei 4k100 und 2k200: Dies ist bisher den Cine-Kameras von RED vorbehalten gewesen. Mit diesem Feature lässt sich z.B. der Moment in dem ein Reiher einen Fisch fängt perfekt aufnehmen, ohne dass man dafür ein minutenlanges Video machen muss in dem nichts passiert.
Auch die EVF-Experience ist bedeutend besser als bei einer R6 oder R7, denn dank dem gestacktem Sensor sieht man im Sucher die gesamte Zeit während man fotografiert ein flüssiges Livebild ohne Ruckler oder schwarze Frames, somit lassen sich Vögel im Flug und andere schnelle Actionszenen ohne Probleme verfolgen, selbst bei besonders langen Brennweiten.
Auch für Makroaufnahmen bietet der gestackte Sensor Vorteile: Für Fokusstacking kann man jetzt einen Blitz verwenden.

Ein kleines Detail gibt es dann aber doch das mich stört:
Die "Custom Picture" Funktion in welcher man die Log-Kurve, den gewünschten Farbraum sowie die Detaileinstellungen wie Schärfe etc. einstellt ist eine Globale Funktion. Das bedeutet dass sie sowohl für den Modus "M", als auch für die Custom Modi "C1", "C2" und "C3" gleichzeitig gilt.
Wenn ich also z.B. vom Modus "M" mit 8K25fps mit meinem CustomPicture namens "8K Schärfe" auf den Modus "C2" mit 2K200fps umswitche, bleibt das CustomPicture auf "8K Schärfe" gestellt.
Da 2K200 leider nur durch ein heftiges Lineskipping vom Sensor aufgenommen werden kann, sehen die Schärfe-Einstellungen des CustomPictures welche ich für 8K gewählt habe ziemlich schrecklich aus.
Ich muss also jedes mal wenn ich von 8K25 auf 2K200 wechsle das CustomPicture manuell ändern, da ich es nicht für die Custom Modi "C1","C2","C3" separat von "M" einstellen kann. Selbst mit einem Custom-Button dauert das Umstellen dennoch ca. 2 Sekunden - was für Wildlife nunmal manchmal einfach zu lang ist.
Außerdem wäre es für meinen Anwendungsfall schöner wenn 4k100 und 2k200 durch Windowing / Cropping erzeugt werden würden anstatt über die gesamte Sensorfläche ausgelesen zu werden.

Aber naja, das ist auch wirklich meckern auf höchstem Niveau.
Zusammenfassend gebe ich der R5ii dennoch die vollen 5 von 5 Sternen, denn sie ist ohne Zweifel die derzeit beste Canon Kamera für Wildlife - und ich bekomme mit ihr mehr und bessere Aufnahmen als jemals zuvor.

Wie die R5 - nur noch besser in Sachen AF und Video
Ich komme von der R5. Die war schon Mega gut. Die neue R5II startet schon mal schneller und hat was den Autofokus angeht noch einige Features mehr und ist deutlich schneller. Auch erkennt sie Motive wenn sie noch weiter entfernt sind, was gerade für Wildlife gut ist. Auch die Videofeatures sind im Vergleich zur alten R5 verbessert worden. Für mich ist vor allem der Intraframe 10 Bit Codec interessant so wie CanonLOG2, womit man - bei entsprechendem Aufwand in z.B. Davinci Resolve - mehr Dynamik bekommt und noch feiner graden kann. Einziges Manko: Das leise Rauschen das man im Betrieb hört, angeblich kommt es vom IBIS, klingt allerdings wie ein Lüfter. Ich bin mehr als happy mit der Kamera. Canon hatte mit 2 Aktionen kombiniert vor kurzem einen echt attraktiven Preis (im Vergleich zur UVP). Ohne die Aktionen wäre sie mir auch zu teuer gewesen.
