Canon's entry-level camera for full-frame system cameras. Those who want modern technology from Canon on a smaller budget will find a companion in the EOS R8.

The sensor of the R6 II in the Canon EOS R8

Except for the IBIS image stabilizer, the Canon EOS R8 houses the same sensor as the R6II, giving you maximum potential for strong shots in every area. Specifically, that means a 24.2-megapixel sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, which offers the same powerful autofocus performance as the Canon R3 and EOS R6 II. This hybrid camera offers up to 6 frames per second with the mechanical shutter and up to 40 frames per second when using the electronic shutter, thanks to the DiGiC X processor. The DiGiC X processor is the heart of the Canon EOS R8 and offers a large buffer memory, which gives you the confidence to capture the moment almost without interruption.

Thus, the camera offers an exposure time of 1/4000 per second when using the mechanical shutter, and when using the electronic shutter, the fastest shutter speed is 1/8000.

So this sensor also offers the ISO performance of the R6 II, which can be set up to a value of 102,400, allowing for short exposure times in the dark with the aperture closed.

Autofocus performance of the big boys in the Canon EOS R8

The Deep Learning AF of the Canon EOS R8, which is retracted thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, offers another plus with its versatile subject detection. If you don't photograph people, you'll benefit here from the very good subject recognition of dogs, cats, horses or birds. Animals are not your field of use? No problem! The R8 also offers the full program for vehicle enthusiasts. For example, the EOS R8 reliably detects cars, motorcycles, airplanes and trains.

With the autofocus performance of the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, the reject rate is very low and every image is razor sharp.

The Canon EOS R8 also reliably focuses on the subject in low light at up to -6.5 EV, making it perfect for photo shoots in the evening atmosphere.

Video quality

The Canon EOS R8 also offers great variety in the video department. You can get 4K-quality video without cropping at 60fps with the R8. If you don't want to create 4K content but want a super slow motion shot, the Canon offers 180fps at full HD. Lightweight & robust design of the Canon R8

About the RF Bayonet
Introduced in September 2018, the EOS R System and RF Bayonet expand the capabilities of the proven EOS System. This development by Canon is in line with technological advancements and end-user feedback, and also takes into account the future technical and creative needs of photographers and filmmakers. The EOS R System combines the best of the EOS System with even more power, more creative possibilities and creative flexibility. The RF Bayonet, also introduced in September 2018, enables unprecedented new optical designs that allow large lens elements to be placed as close as possible to the sensor, favoring the incidence of light on the sensor. The RF Bayonet improves communication and information transfer between the Lens and camera body - helping to deliver the world's fastest autofocus speed on a full-frame mirrorless camera systemii . The bayonet's short flange focal distance of 20mm and large bayonet diameter of 54mm provide greater latitude for new lens development. The new lens series creates excellent shooting opportunities for all EOS R system users, regardless of their needs - from stills and video to landscapes or weddings.

Ich nutze das Objektiv seit ein paar Tagen und ist für mich ein sehr gutes Objektiv. An das Gewicht musste ich mich erst gewöhnen aber jetzt möchte ich es nicht mehr missen.

Tolles lichtstarkes Zoomobjektiv, macht hervorragende Bilder auch bei schwachem Licht. Ist natürlich einiges schweres als das f/4
