Unparalleledimage quality
The rear-exposed 33-megapixel Exmor R full-frame sensor with high-speed readout, high sensitivity, and highly accurate color reproduction, combined with the high processing power of the new Bionz XR image processor, ensures outstanding image quality. Thanks to high ISO sensitivity (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for photos and 100-102400 for videos) even in low light.

In addition to the two classic RAW and JPEG formats, the HEIF format (High Efficiency Image File) is also available for photos. Thanks to this format's inherent 4:2:2 color sampling and 10-bit color depth, even the finest gradations are reproduced naturally and realistically.

The 7 IV has two media slots that support UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC and SDHC cards. In addition, one of the slots is compatible with CFexpress Type A memory cards. This means that high read and write speeds are also possible without any problems.

Improved selection and editing

The Sony 7 IV offers ten unique in-camera presets for photos, videos, and livestreams. So you can create your own individual picture looks already in the camera and share your images with the world quickly and easily without any complex post-processing.

The optionally adjustable Soft Skin effect provides a radiant complexion, reduces wrinkles, skin irritations and dull areas and emphasizes eyes and mouth.

Autofocus rethought
Faster, more accurate and more precise: the advanced hybrid autofocus recognizes subjects (human, animal and bird) thanks to the latest real-time tracking technology and reliably keeps them in focus. Even with fast and unpredictable movements. Via touch, real-time tracking can be easily applied to any subject in the frame and activated in addition to eye autofocus when detecting eyes.

Focus functions already familiar from the Sony Alpha 1 and α 7S III, such as focus switching or a user-defined subject tracking sensitivity, offer new, creative possibilities in video composition.

High-quality video recording
Record video in stunning 4K quality at up to 60p, with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. Discerning filmmakers can use the α 7 IV to record content in 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling, and produce cinema-quality images via S-CINETONE/S-LOG 3 image profiles without much post-production effort.

The α 7 IV also offers unique video tools such as a Digital Focus Map and innovative Breathing Compensation, available only on Sony E-mount lenses. Thanks to the heat dissipation structure, video recording over a long period of time is no problem.

Shake-free images

The built-in 5-axis optical image stabilization (IBIS) ensures shake-free images. When shooting handheld video, the Active mode provides reliable support and compensates for camera shake. But shake can also be eliminated afterwards thanks to the recording of gyro and lens data.

Live streaming made easy
With the Alpha 7 IV, stream live content at up to 15p in 4K or 60p in Full HD. Even without a memory card. Thanks to the latest Generation 3.2 USB-C connectivity, no additional software is required. With the ultra-fast Wi-Fi chip and automatic Bluetooth image backup mode, you can stream your images instantly to share with the world.
